Should a US Citizen be allowed to own a machine gun and why?
Because I’m a total moron with itty-bitty penis ....😆
The entire reason the second amendment says bear arms rather than any specific weapon was for this exact reason. They knew that different weapons were coming. They wanted the people to own whatever the government would be holding.
Yes because the 2nd Amendment
Yes, to protect their civil liberties and their communities from their greatest threat, their own government.
No. Why on earth would any citizen need a machine gun? The right to bear arms does not mean “the right to have all guns at an arm’s reach at all times.”
I don't believe that specificity was ever outlined in the ole 2nd.
No American is responsible enough
But is it practical?
Yes because freedom
Yes, but with even heavier restrictions than we have right now. Any old Joe can apply for a weapon license like that with fairly little extra paperwork, so I believe paperwork should be increased to a more reasonable amount. Machine guns are important against defending from tyranny though.
Under current federal law, you have to undergo an FBI background check, register the gun with the BATF, and pay a $200 transfer tax. From what I've read, the process takes at least 6 to 8 months.
And they cost $10k plus which puts them out of reach from at least 80% of the population to just pop down to Wally and buy
To protect against tyranny and because freedom
Yes, for the same reason I can own a car that goes 175 mph. American freedom!🇺🇸
There’s a difference between a fast car and a machine gun...
Yeah. Cars kill far more people than guns.
Because organic guns are lame.
