The same way criminalizing drugs keeps them off the street. Oh, wait...

'Criminals,' as you seem to conceive of them, aren't the only ones that commit murder... A significant proportion of gun homicides and suicides are crimes of passion and acts of desperation. Having decreased access to firearms decreases the success of those attempts. Pretending that's not true is disgustingly dishonest.

Should we also ban automobiles?

See, so if you want to ban guns shouldn’t you also want to ban automobiles? Whats the difference?

I don't want to ban guns, not sure where you got that from.

Also, your absurd extrapolation lacks rigor. Having ready access to vehicles does not correlate with increased rate of success of homicides and suicides remotely as closely as ready access to guns do. In abusive relationships, a woman is 7 times more likely to be murdered by her abuser if her abuser has ready access to guns. The same actually isn't true for ready access to cars.

But if you really want to insist on your non sequitur: I'd be wholly in favor of implementing laws that require people to pass tests demonstrating knowledge and assume level of experience in the safe operation of vehicles before letting people operate them, with more rigorous experience and testing requirements those who want to operate more advanced/complex vehicles, and a way to keep track of who gets to operate what kinds of vehicles. It'd be really cool if somebody could come up with something like that, but, alas, I guess we'll never get there.

Automobiles kill and injure more people than guns.

Is drinking and driving or being high on meth really an accident?

It won’t. Taking guns away as a whole will only show us how creative the depraved mind can be when hell bent on murder.

Uh, because law abiding citizens are just that - law abiding - right up until the moment they commit murder with a gun.

Most people that commit murder with a gun have criminal records. As did the shooter at this church. So no they are not law abiding citizens up until that point.

How will making all guns available to all people without restrictions make our streets, schools, and churches safer?

*note I am not a proponent of taking guns away from all people*

All guns are not available to all people. That is complete bullshit. Just liberal tripe because they are incapable of defending their own positions and beliefs with truth and facts.

11/06/17 11:36 am

Some pro-gun folk would like it to be that way.

The idea that a majority of liberals want to “take guns away from everyone” is completely and utter bullshit as well.

I believe my response is a reasonable one, given that truth.

Who has said all guns should be available to everyone?

STONEYTJONES Indiana

While that link is a good argument for the 2nd amendment you still didn’t answer the question.

WHO said all guns should be available to all people?

Ya know what? Based on your response to that article, I believe you are one who would have zero restrictions.

Given your dishonesty regarding that opinion, I am bowing out of this discussion.

No reasonable exchange can occur if both parties do not share any common understanding about what is and is not true.

Ciao!

You are bowing out because that is what those on the left do when asked to back up your claims.

You can’t back it up because no one has ever said all guns should be available to everyone without restrictions.

I notice that you never did answer MY question...

You didn’t ask a question.

I noticed you can’t back up your bullshit claim so you keep trying to change the subject.

Who says that all guns should be available to everyone without restrictions?

Nope, you don’t get to answer my question with another question.

Q: Are there any circumstances that you think we should be limiting gun sales of any kind in America?
TRUMP: No. I am a 2nd amendment person. If we had guns in California on the other side where the bullets went in the different direction, you wouldn't have 14 or 15 people dead right now. If even in Paris, if they had guns on the other side, going in the opposite direction, you wouldn't have 130 people plus dead. So the answer is no

Again, for the slow ones. You did not ask a question. You are just making up bullshit in an attempt to avoid answering the question I have asked you 3 times.

Who says that all guns should be available to everyone without restrictions?

You made the claim, back it up.

The President has also mentioned we have gun laws already. We don’t need more. And that we need to do much more on mental health. It isn’t the gun it’s the person.

You are just arguing for arguments sake.

I did ask a question. It was the first comment on this thread.

If I were a fan of taking away someones guns, yours would be the first to go, because you are clearly irrational.

Again and for the last time, farewell.

The only question you asked was the one that made no sense because no one has said all guns should be available to everyone without restrictions. That is your own made up BS.

WHY CANT YOU BACK UP YOUR CLAIM?

probably the biggest lie fed by the NRA is that the dems are out to just take guns away from law abiding citizens... in 8 years as president did Obama take anyone's guns away?

A president cannot.

No, but there were plenty of people saying he was going to do it anyway. For 8 years, all you heard about is how that Kenya born Muslim was going to take our guns

If they would have had enough of a majority they would have. And will in the future if they get the chance.

Exactly! The republicans whined for 8 years that 8 years about how Obama was gonna take away their guns. When THEY make the laws, THEY'RE the majority. Obama couldn't do jackshit. Idiots

It WON’T. Chicago has proven that! And this is the 2nd church shooting recently in which a citizen with their own weapon helped take down the shooter.

Also, this shooter was former military, had been court-martialed for wife and child abuse, had been dishonorably discharged, and so from what I understand, it was illegal for him to have a gun to begin with!
