I hope there is NEVER a cure for cancer.

Too much money in pharma to allow a cure to make it to market.....saw a cure in clinical trials be taken off study due to it working too well.

No. Cancer is not one disease but many. We may slow it down but not eliminate it.

I believe there are cures already for some cancers (and def ways to prevent) but they’re not known due to big Pharma $$$$ 😕

hazhap1 Las Vegas
11/07/17 10:16 pm

If they can sell you a “treatment” for $10,000 per pill, or I could sell you a cure for $50, who’s going to get more of your money?

11/09/17 9:42 pm

Yeah, because a cure would only cost $50

11/07/17 11:47 am

Perhaps with genetic engineering rather than medicine.

11/06/17 9:05 pm

It’s very stupid when people say that the cure will never come because of economic reasons like the pharmaceutical industry will get killed.

You know who I are currently not helping the economy? Answer: The millions of dead people from Cancer

You know who can help the economy in the future? Answer: Millions of people that are cured of cancer and don’t die and continue to work.

Please stop with the conspiracy theories about hiding the future cure for economic reasons.

austinTX Texas
11/09/17 8:57 pm

It’s very real. I’m not normally a conspiracy theorist but I️ can’t see how this is not a big issue in the cancer “industry.” Cancer donation is a multi-billion dollar industry. A cure will only result in a loss of billions of dollars every year. Yes, deceased cancer patients contribute to the economy, but not to the scientists wallets who benefit from cancer research. They don’t care about that... they only care about their money (and they will be out of a job if they find a cure).

Will never happen, as long as, Big Pharma marketing expenditures exceed R&D. Same reason doctors won't prescribe proper nutrition before prescribing toxic chemicals with side effects; no incentives to do so.

Henry123 Connecticut
11/06/17 5:42 pm

Saying there is no incentive to come up with a cure is so ridiculously false. The company that makes a cure will be richer than all the rest combined forever.

Not making the cure and letting someone else come up with it nets you a total of $0

11/06/17 6:48 pm

I saw on a documentary there are cancer care centers in Germany that have high cure rates. They use procedures that are not FDA approved in the US since they are more natural. Therefore we can't get studies funded since there would be little or no profit for drug companies.

We have many different methods that we are currently working on. Nanobots, nanoparticles, and generic engineering to name a few

11/06/17 11:09 am

There are many types of cancer, some of which can be cured now, and some that can't. I doubt there will be a cure found for every form of cancer in my lifetime, but strides have been made in some cancer treatments.

11/06/17 8:39 am

For some cancers yea, but all of them? I sadly doubt it :/

11/06/17 7:03 am

Nopea big pharma sees it that cancer is profitable.

11/06/17 1:01 pm

Not exactly. Continued treatment is more profitable for big pharma, they dont want a cure.

Henry123 Connecticut
11/06/17 1:04 pm

The company that comes up with a cure (if it’s possible) would be the richest company of all time pulling in literally trillions upon trillions while the other companies all go bankrupt making no money at all.

How is that not an incentive to find a cure??

11/06/17 1:09 pm

Because a cure is temporarily profitable and permanent treatment to them would bring in a lot more money for longer periods of time. Needless to say i personally would rwther a cure, but big pharma would rather people die so they can get their $$$

Henry123 Connecticut
11/06/17 1:27 pm

I just explained why that’s not true.

Haleakala Tradewinds
11/06/17 5:21 pm

Pro is so right! Big Pharma needs everyone to stay sick; known as the "sick industry." Type 2 Diabetes is a great example. Big Pharma doesn't have the courage to require doctors be certified in nutrition before they can prescribe their chemicals. Doctors need to ensure that patients understand that proper nutrition is the best treatment to permanently cure their Type 2 Diabetes, not the chemicals that allow them to continue eating poorly. Oh no, can't stop the revenue stream with the chemicals so let's keep them n the dark about nutrition!

NKarta Please excuse my sanity

I think most cancers will be cured during my lifetime, yes.

11/06/17 4:32 am

No. A patient cured is a customer lost.

Henry123 Connecticut
11/06/17 12:57 pm

Money is the single dumbest reason to think anyone would hold a cure back. The company or individual that comes up with a “cure” for cancer would be immensely wealthy for all time.

They alone would make trillions of dollars far more than anyone can possibly make off of treating patients

Haleakala Tradewinds
11/06/17 5:24 pm

Nope, as long as marketing budgets exceed R&D budgets, Big Pharma isn't serious about getting into the "wellness" business. Keep 'em sick!

No, but I do think I will live to see the aggregate survival rate reach above 90% for most types of cancer.

11/06/17 6:54 am

This is the most reasonable outcome. Especially with cancer. To "cure" it is a tough definition. Prevention methods may make it so cancer is so rare that it's almost like it's cured, but other forms of cancer won't be at that level.

An estimated 6 billion dollars in the“pink ribbon” category of sales/fundraising has been raised in recent years toward a cure for breast cancer. That’s billion. With a “b”. Annually...and yet tens of thousands of women die annually in this country from breast cancer.

gorilla72 Naples, FL
11/05/17 10:01 pm

To answer if they have or will have it YES, next question will they release it for the general public? I say NO! Population control, and big Pharma got to get paid to keep treating you, no more money if you are cured!

The cure is already here. The secret is to lower stress, eat healthy (add 5-7 cups of organic pesticide free veggies/day), stop taking cholesterol drugs to lower our cholesterol. Stop using table Salt and replace it with High Quality Sea Salts. Eliminate as much sugar from our diets as possible. Basically when our bodies become too acidic especially our blood then we have problems.

Do I think repeated questions will ever stop during my lifetime? No.

11/05/17 9:14 pm

I think we will discover ways to possibly prevent it, or at least keep it away for longer. A cure doesn’t seem as feasible. It’s known that human cells will always develop cancer after so many years. Imagine if the very has we live on “oxygen” is slowly poisoning us resulting in cancer. Who knows

11/05/17 9:06 pm

There is a cure for the most part. Do not smoke/ do drugs, practice fitness regularly, and eat more veggies and less sugar. A healthy lifestyle will help fight off disease.

Cancer isn't a single disease where you can target a bacterium or virus.
If I'm optimistic I'll see 2050 but think even then there still will be cancer deaths though I hope by 2100, genetic therapy or nanobot tech will have it pat.

11/05/17 7:31 pm

I install radiation therapy equipment for a living. I’ve learned a lot about cancer, and saying “cure for cancer” is no different than saying “cure for virus.” It’s a complex disease with many different forms and methods of treatment. Chemo and radiation only work because they also kill everything else around the cancer. The differences between prostate, breast, lung, bone, colon, and every other cancer are so vast, and even the differences between prostate patient A and prostrate patient B can mean different methods of treatment. There is no such thing as a “cure for cancer,” nor will there ever be. There may be a “cure for a particular strand of cervical cancer,” but not a cure for every type of cancer.
