The most basic human drive is survival followed by reproduction. Good deeds are usually only done as a convenient step to one of the above. Exceptions don't count! So please don't talk about Mother Teresa. I've heard she was a bit of a scumbag, with her concepts fortunes.
No. Humans are inherently lazy. Most of us will only be good if it is easier than going with the flow.
