So it's not precisely racist, but it's calculated disenfranchisement that is partly racist. Oh, right, and all those groups proven to be less likely to have or obtain proper ID? Yeah, they're also proven to vote more liberal than other groups. So why would anybody advocate such laws? I wonder...hmm.

Given that info (which is all pure data), why would anybody advocate for voter ID laws that only prevent a VERY small handful of illegal votes while also preventing a large number of legal votes, primarily from urban dwellers, minorities, the poor, the elderly, and college aged voters?

Studies have shown that minorities (who are generally also urban and poorer) are less likely to have, and less able to obtain required ID. Lawmakers know this, as well as the fact that voter fraud by impersonation accounts for only about 2 - 5 illegal votes per election.

Buying beer is racist, buying a single grape flavored swisher sweet is racist, driving is racist, going to a pub is racist, using a credit card is racist. WAKE UP AMERICA!! It is so overtly racist to ask some to perform an act which they probably do daily, once every four years. Show ID.

Saying that voter ID cards are racist is ridiculous.

In California it is a law that everyone just produce ID when asked by a cop. That means we (citizens) are already required to have them. How do you prove that you are who you say you are when voting time comes? Without the requirement our elections are a sham!

Yes. Gun free zones are completely "logical" laws that keep everyone "safe"... that's why a majority of mass shootings occur in gun free zones. Keep dreaming.

The census, bob. Among other ways. You really think you can live off the grid completely?
And people saying "big whoop... $8!?!?" Well you are REALLY missing the point. The people to whom $8 is a LOT of money, are the ones who deserve to have their opinion voiced as loudly as the rest of us!

It's not covered because isolated incidents of an idiot voting twice or an illegal voting is only news for a channel that has 100% bias towards the Republican Party. Your better off watching grass grow, you would learn more.

Many Republicans shout conspiracy because there's only ONE conservative news channel, all the rest are liberal. When so many intentionally ignore a story it seems like conspiracy.

If you answered "no" you don't understand the question. Who in the US doesn't have ID? The poor and individuals not born in the US. The poor and immigrants are mostly black, Asian, Hispanic. Is there a voting fraud problem that needs to be fixed? No. Who benefits? Republicans. Yes - racist.

Guns and votes are two completely different things. Restrictions on guns are logical, if you want to keep everyone safe. Obscene and unfair voting restrictions? Maybe it shouldn't be labeled "racist"...but most definitely exclusive to the lower classes.

You can't be poor enough to not be able to get an ID and still be fit to vote. It's just not possible. Saying that it is a racist law is so insulting to minorities that it is a total outrage.

Having to get an ID discriminates against lazy fools. I know plenty of them, and they come in all colors, but tend to be on the poor side of the scale. Please don't get me wrong - if you're poor, you're not necessarily a lazy fool, but if you're a lazy fool, well, you're poor.

Rdc, many people are poor because they were born into poverty, have a severe illness or injury that keeps them from working, or have had past hardships that keep them struggling to repay debts. (Student loans, children's tuitions, gambling, etc.) That doesn't mean they're unintelligent.

I love it when people say "some people don't have access to get an ID" so the DMV is now discriminating on who they want to give an ID too. Had to point that out, I see a few comments saying some people do not have access to get an ID. I know in every state you can get an ID that costs about $5.

If the law says you cannot do it but you do, you are committing an illegal act. They know this, they are the ones that put themselves in that situation. It's ultimately up to the individual for the crime they commit. So do we give citizens who are in Jail amnesty for the crime they commit. Nope.
