Scenario: John's girlfriend has been having an affair with another man that is a stranger to John. John later discovers this. Angrily, John wants to attack this man. Does this make any sense when John's girlfriend was the one who cheated on him?

One of my guilty pleasures is watching "Cheaters" my favorite episode was for the guy was cheating. The girlfriend did not know he was married. The wife and a girlfriend proceeded to beat him up. Rather than attacking the one that was more innocent.

That violence is still unethical and they should go to jail for assault.

I doubt Mr. cheating pants was going to press charges.

If the stranger knew the girlfriend was in a relationship, John is understandably upset.

But why be more angry at him (the stranger) than the girlfriend for betraying him?

It is more socially acceptable to hit a guy than a girl

John should be mad at his cheating girlfriend, not the guy she was cheating with.
