TV shows, I wait till Netflix. I'm trying to get myself back to watching House of Cards, but politics these days is so goddamn depressing, I don't want to

Movies. Watch the whole thing in one sitting and you're done, nice and clean. And there's more time for the scriptwriter to make the story better.

What have you been watching as of late, Korosensei?

This season Alice to Zouruko, Re:Creators, Little Witch Academia, and Tsugumomo are all very worth watching

The amount of filler and meaningless drivel in TV series, especially in dramas and primetime shows, has turned me off pretty much anything but documentaries.

I like some reality TV. I like Survivor, Amazing Race, and The Bachelor. Other than that, I really only watch sports. Don't get around to seeing movies often.

TV these days since Hollywood doesn't make comedy movies anymore.

I take it you haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy 2 or Deadpool?

Korosensei Maine
06/09/17 12:22 pm

In what way is Deadpool not a comedy?

WallyBarbuckle
06/09/17 1:54 pm

In the way that it doesn't have one laughing moment, and that it's just another bs super hero action garbage flick, and is part of everything that is wrong with Hollywood.

Korosensei Maine
06/09/17 8:04 pm

Oh I get it you're one of those people who doesn't actually care about the quality of the movie you just don't like that it's popular and so you say "just another dumb action movie" because then you can be going "against the grain" and be an "independent thinker" who doesn't buy into all the stuff everyone else eats up. Here's a bit of advice buddy, when you let other people's enjoyment make you dislike something you are failing to be a real person.

WallyBarbuckle
06/10/17 10:14 am

No, I dislike bs super hero movies that have the exact same plot as every other super hero movie with 3rd rate acting. And I prefer comedies. And you're claiming this bs super hero movie is a comedy. Nope... I liked Iron Man and the Batman with Heath Ledger. But all other super hero movies are for the general mentally handicapped population who just want to see CGI action with horrible rehashed plot/character/humor. I prefer at least an ounce of originality in plot/character/humor. But have fun jackin it to men in tights.

Korosensei Maine
06/10/17 10:17 am

Dude one let go of your anger it's very unflattering and two have you actually watched any superhero movies since those two or did you watch one and then refuse to watch more because "they're all the same"

WallyBarbuckle
06/10/17 10:49 am

You're the one angry about me not agreeing with you about how great super hero movies are. I didn't come to your post and starting talking about faggy super heroes. Great, you like terrible movies. Wonderful. You're not going to convince me to like the same things you like, sorry. Nice try. You can have your horrible taste and opinions. Doesn't bother me. But me not liking the same things as you bothers you? Okie dokie.

Batman was a movie? I was too busy drooling at Christian Bale 🤦‍♀️😍😍

No, seriously, I did watch the movie..

I get way more invested into tv series than movies, unless there's a movie series, like Star Wars or something. I'm the same way with game series. Like the Elder Scroll series.

I picked movies, but a really well done series like Fargo, Orphan Black, or Deliverance can be even better, like a movie with many intermissions that would be much too long to sit through all at once without the breaks. Most seem to preserve the character development, more or less, but don't strictly preserve the timeline or adhere to a coherent storyline, and therefore earn a "meh" when compared to even a mediocre movie.

As long as it's an AMC show. Hell on Wheels, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Better Call Saul, Halt and Catch Fire, Turn, The Walking Dead, need I say more?

It depends entirely on the movie or TV show. I'd say there are more good movies than TV shows by far, though.

Even though, TV series in the end was not always that good. What is next, when it will end, depend on the characters itself development. Movies does have good end, sometimes. We all want to see the end of story is wonderful and satisfaction right? TV does not always serve it well because we demand more and more. Make us crazy or not. So I pick both.

TV shows for sure. They obviously have more time to develop characters and storylines. I prefer season long storylines over a movie that has to crunch everything in 2 hours. I also like knowing that after every episode, there is another one that follows(obviously not the case if the series ends)
