Who was more offensive this week?
Kathy. She looks like shit.
Honestly, what's so bad about a word, he wasn't trying to offend anyone
Hmmm. Let me guess, you're white?
I know, my opinion doesn't really matter, but in this case he wasn't even referring to a race and the joke wasn't about race
I love Bill Maher. I count down the hours and minutes until his show airs. When he's on hiatus, I go into withdrawal. I forgive him. That said, that word should be eliminated from use, public or private.
Bill told a racial joke, Kathy held up a severed head of our president. Both screwed up, but Kathy was way out of line. I despise trump's personality and policies, but come on...
Maher wasn't telling a scripted joke, it was a stupid impromptu retort. What Griffin did was far worse, especially given that there was premeditation. So yes, I agree with you. And that includes our mutual hatred of president Trussia.
Here's why I disagree: Maher offered up a reflexive remark that he wrongly thought was comedic. Griffin's stunt was carefully planned and choreographed. It was premeditated.
I don't think Griffin's stunt was offensive.
That's too bad.
Then what is threatening the president to you? Holding up his bloodied head doesn't make you suspicious? Just imagine how his children felt
Is it a serious threat? No.
It wasn't a threat, it was in poor taste. And I don't give a fuck about his children.
Poor taste, but not offensive like the n word
Poor taste equals offensive in my opinion.
Poor taste for me says that it wasn't funny, and pretty petty and useless, but offending Trump is very different than using an offensive word to describe black people.
Both of these slugs abrade my loins
Hey, nice one! This is a good poll.
Bill was in the middle of banter and the remark actually fit although a politically incorrect term that only the affected race is allowed to say to each other. Not the biggest deal as compared to a severed head
So if it fits in context then racial slurs are ok to toss around? It's ok to call black people niggers if they are working in cotton fields?
Still not ok, but there is a difference.
It's on paid tv station HBO. Uncensored and not politically correct. One knows that going in. No one buying a paid channel should be offended by what's said. That's why one buys an uncensored channel in the first place.
Let's assume I've been hiding under a rock... What did Bill do?
Bill for SURE
Disagree unless taken out of context of that moment
Offensive to whom?
