If oil production is halted would you miss some of the products that need it?

Pretty sure most largely cities would starve without their food being brought in by trucks.

Yes, why stop oil production. It's in abundance in the US.

Some people want to leave it in the ground for some reason.

Ok. Einstein. Look around your room, everything made of plastic is oil based. The upholstery on your couch, the paint on your walls, the Rubbermaid in your cabinets, the gel in your hair, the tires on your bike, the carpet, food packaging, cell phones, laptops....simple, right?

There's no need to be rude and I didn't say it was simple. Plastic can now be made from soy beans. Rubber comes from trees

Remember when we had animals instead of machines? That's where we would head back to unless we switched to nuclear.

Without oil you would have to go back to covered wagons, horses, whale oil for light, little stuff like that. No more tires, or cars, or machinery that gets lubed. Amazing on our decency on the stuff. Dollar stores would have to close, shipping by sail. International markets gone. Back to the 18th century. You even need oil to run the machines that extract the soy bean oil.

Yes because oil is the only technology created in the past 200 years

1. They tend to go overboard with the packaging. Too much goddamn plastic wrap. (And the lousy seal they put on medicine bottles, or just jarsMake me want to want to hunt that lady who spiked her boyfriends Tylenol and beat her within an inch of her life. Those things drive me nuts)
2. Don't use gel. Too lazy
They can figure out ways to make these things without it.

44, what is your alternative during your lifetime. When do you think petroleum product will be discontinued, the oil well capped and never to be used again!

Just go back to life style before 1820 and all will be solved.

Nearly all things that are made with oil can be made with other resources. We will not go back to the 1800s

Do you have a site with a list of products that replaces oil based products.
