Question of the Day: Are the crusades or the Ku Klux Klan relevant in conversations about modern religious fundamentalism and terrorism?
The KKK is still active today, David Duke is still running for office
The Crusades were not only religious actions, but also highly political. They were also not attacks intended to simply terrify or threaten, they were large operations with a clear goal.
The KKK are a primarily racial and nationalist group, religion does play a part but it is not the sole motivator.
