If public transit were widely available and reliable in your area, would you use it for your commute or continue using your own vehicle?
Maybe if I lived 2mi. from work and carried nothing on my person.
I get to and from work very easily our car has 21 miles to a charge and my work is just over a mile away.
I miss Portland's TriMet public transit. I used it to commute to my second job for 2 years because I hate driving in downtown Portland. If there was good transit in the area where I live, I'd use it for sure.
As long as I am carrying a manageable amount of stuff, then I'll take public transportation.
It is and I use it on days I don't bike. I rarely drive to work.
I carry /way/ too much equipment back & forth to work (fills the trunk, back seat & passenger seat in my Corolla), and I don't want to have a chance of a class III weapon getting loose on a bus..!
I really appreciate the simple luxury of privacy. I'd like to keep as much as I can.
I would use public transit more often if our light rail line was longer than 7.4 miles. We'll be booming when the line connects downtown Norfolk to our town center and the oceanfront. And the airport and the university and the base...s.
We're getting there, and we're doing it with less help than the metro gets. NoVa gets hundreds upon hundreds of millions if dollars for their projects.
The metro here is super great. Very predictable as well, more so than driving.
Well, barring any major delays. (I'm looking at you, red line...)
Europe has fantastic transit lines
Boston does too
Yeah! I love the European ones. "Mind the gap!" :)
And you haven't been on in a while!
I know. Been busy on top of annoyed with all this Treyvone Martin fighting going on here.
How are you?:)
Agreed. I'm so done with that case. And I'm great, thanks for asking! How's work and moving and everything going for you?
A pain. We have to move twice so that should be fun. Works ok. Might be getting a job at tmobile soon..I hope! =) $$
Oh right! That's awesome about tmobile!! Not so much about moving, but it'll all work out fine :)
I hope so!
i LOVE public transit (mainly trains, not buses) and would MOST DEFINITELY use it more often if Austin had more availble routes and times.
