Revered is a better term than worship. Worshipping is mostly for something unworldly. Where as Government is relevant to our world.

When I was working for the govt there were a few that definitely had some creepy unhealthy hero worship issues.

Most people I talk to on here. The anthem and pledge are prayers to an idol, it has a dogma that despite all logic and evidence continues to be adhered to, as well as charismatic leaders.

It's a cult and religion like any other.

No way. Lots of politicians get into government to make change. They're often the harshest critics. But I will agree that some do glorify any minimal successes that they make.

I think the more "newer" or "not as experienced" politicians feel that way. They might feel the need to suck up to their higher officials so they can get their two cents in to the country and "worship" the government.

Oh I was going to say the opposite. Newer politicians are the ones that come in wanting to make huge changes. Then when they realize they can't do everything they promised during campaigning, they start overcompensating for their shortcomings.
