Do you think the demographics of party voters will be significantly different in the 2020 presidential election than they were in the 2012 presidential election?

I was referencing more sources from around the world that came to a different factual conclusion. That's all I was referencing. I will not dispute his findings. Outside looking in at this county. Regardless, we should take all this for granted. Gen Z is YOUNG!! Political views don't set in until 24-25, so any polls are going to change over time.

Conservative 13-year-old grows up, becomes liberal and supports Obama

My school district, historically a conservative stronghold, has more Democrats than Republicans in the Model Congress we are doing this week.

The real political indicator is WHAT PRESIDENT THEY GROW UP UNDER
www.people-press.org/2011/11/03/section-1-how-generations-have-changed/
People that grew up under successful Clinton administrations, failing Nixon administrations, successful FDR administrations, all voted DEM!
People that grew up under successful Reagan administrations, successful Eisenhower administrations, all vote GOP!
When Gen Z sees the failure that is Donald Trump, they will be sure to vote for Democrats.

Gen Z is liberal:
A 2013 survey by Ameritrade found that 46% of Generation Z in the United States (considered here to be those between the ages of 14 and 23) were concerned about student debt, while 36% were worried about being able to afford a college education at all. www.forbes.com/sites/jmaureenhenderson/2013/07/31/move-over-millennials-why-twentysomethings-should-fear-teens/#1b92ac021d89
They don't believe in gender and are more open to non-heterosexuality: reason.com/blog/2016/03/15/gen-z-doesnt-believe-in-gender
Want a college education: According to a Northeastern University Survey, 81% of Generation Z believes obtaining a college degree is necessary in achieving career goals
Are more diverse: Frank N. Magid Associates estimates that in the United States, 55% of gen Z are caucasian, 24% are Hispanic, 14% are African-American, 4% are Asian, and 4% are multiracial.
They hate Trump: Voting 52% Clinton-35% Trump election.scholastic.com/vote/

By 2020 Arizona will lean democrat due to demographics (Nevada and Colorado already experienced this), Georgia will be an official swing state, Texas by 2024 will be a swing state aswell. In all seriousness trump only won Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan by close to nothing and because Hillary was the nominee.

Actually, that whole "minority-majority" thing is a myth. America will remain a majority-white country for long into the future. The definition of white in the United States has changed quite a bit from its original definition, and it likely will again. Many of those Hispanics will simply become white Americans. Over the course of several generations, Hispanic Americans tend to shift away from identifying as Latino/Hispanic and begin to identify as non-Hispanic whites. This process is what sociologists and economists call "ethnic attrition".

I don't understand what you mean, Glux. How can you change your race or ethnicity? I thought you were the one that was so against immigration because you say they're not assimilating. This is confusing me.

When you have Hispanics and blacks having lots of babies, and white Millennials refusing to do so, there is only one outcome, imho. And this is very scary, because a good many blacks and Hispanics have been on the welfare rolls for generations. So when they make up the majority, who is going to pay for that?

.

I'm not doing real well tonight, Glux, but I'll try to read your articles tomorrow and make sense of them! Lol

gluxford1 Arizona
05/21/17 10:46 pm

The problem is that assimilation is happening far too slowly. Strict limits need to be placed on how many immigrants are accepted each year. The constant flow of foreign cultures into the U.S. makes it harder for immigrants to assimilate. Trump seems to be planning on restricting immigration to some degree, so that's a good start. The longer the immigrants are in the U.S., the more likely they are to learn English and forget Spanish, identify as an American instead of a hyphenated American, and rise to the middle class and move into middle class neighborhoods that aren't immigrant enclaves. This results in their assimilation into mainstream American culture. The constant influx of foreigners slows that process though.

Actually the odds of you having African blood in your DNA is extremely high. Unless all the data is wrong. So maybe in 4 or 5 generations the whole world will be caucasian . If that's the logic. Intermarriage among Hispanics and whites also helps assimilation. And thankfully, intermarriages like this are becoming much more common.

Thanks, Glux! I would also appreciate it if you'd read the article I linked, if you haven't already. It's not just immigration that is going to impact this, imho, but the amount of births by the different races. Since white Millennials are refusing to have as many kids as whites have in the past, while blacks and Hispanics are continuing to have as many, if not more than whites have in the past, I think this is going to make a major impact.

Skin color doesn't mean vote democrat anymore: that racist polling method had its time, by year 4 identity politics will be dead. Spanish people open businesses 3x the rate of regulars, and if Trump cuts business taxes their kids will be hearing how great Trump is from parents

They are also more conservative and religious. Many don't like rampant illegal immigration. The democrats are just showing they have no strategy, why would people vote for them?

musicotic Michigan
05/21/17 3:16 pm

What about the Scholastic poll showing Clinton would win students by a landslide? (gasp, polls sometimes DO tell the truth) Trump's anti-nonwhite rhetoric is enough to scare away most if not all nonwhites.

iceberg124
05/21/17 3:22 pm

The most recent polls say Trump still would have won. And students = millennials. I am one and I agree it is a liberal generation, however, they are embarrassing themselves on a national level with things like Berkeley and Safe spaces. Berkeley will have serious brain drain this upcoming semester and lose much of its appeal, the younger generation who sees the moronic stunts being pulled by millennials will reject it, and millennials still won't get out to vote because they require outrage and are generally apathetic

musicotic Michigan
05/21/17 3:49 pm

You misunderstand what safe spaces are and what they are intended for. Safe spaces aren't supposed to be a place where you can't disagree with somebody, or where political views are restricted. They are supposed to be a place where people have to be respectful and not inflammatory. EX: rape survivors groups shouldn't allow people who make incredibly insulting remarks towards rape survivors. EX2: LGBT safe spaces shouldn't allow homophobic people if they express their views.

Some millennials ∈ students, but oldest millennials are around 35 years old, definitely out of school. The poll was for elementary, middle and high school, and had Clinton winning 60+% of the vote. That shows that after the millennials, Gen Z will probably be very Democratic.

Corporate taxes are GASP, graduated, and Trump isn't proposing to cut small business corporate taxes by much iirc. Younger Latinos are far less religious, and far more socially liberal.

iceberg124
05/21/17 3:55 pm

Lmao. College safe spaces aren't the same as help groups, colleges gave help groups which no one has problems with. Safe spaces like what we are seeing 'African American housing' is laughed at. And you misunderstand corporations, it's not only for the fat cats but people with an LLC which many Hispanics would fall under. So it is a great move for entrepreneurs. Many people are tuning out from the propaganda press (MSN) which constantly shills against Trump and in 4 years even less will watch that trash. Conservatives thrive on the internet, YouTube, etc. so the next generation has far more access to conservative views, and will likely not but the snake oil sold by the dnc.
Identity politics is dead, better accept t before you get left further behind
