Do you watch more independent streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, etc.) or cable TV?

I haven't had cable for 13 years. And I've had Netflix that whole time, even before they had streaming.

Probably a tie overall, Netflix more recently.

05/20/17 8:53 am

I like to watch Netflix. Shows like House of Cards, Life Below Zero, and some Anthony Bourdain shows.

I watch cable via streaming.

I need live sports, so cable. But I do have so I can watch baseball online

05/20/17 1:46 am

Neither. Local channels abc nbc fox cw cbs

05/20/17 9:36 am

Not necessarily. I watch Fox but I don't have cable. I get it via antenna. In some areas you can get all the channels that he listed just with an antenna.

I use Sling for cable channels and get all my local stuff on the antenna. Poor man's cable, really. It's surprising you can catch so much over the air still.

Yea but it's still cable... especially for the purposes of this question when asked if you stream things.

Cable sucks. I stream. Why give more money for channels I don't watch? With Google Play Movies, I can watch TV and movies and only pay for the shows I watch. I spend like $8 per month on TV that way.

Definitely cable. I can't read the small on-screen menu on my TV, so I'm not able to get to Netflix by myself. So I generally stick with my favorite cable channels.

I don't watch ANYTHING while it is airing. I watch most shows On Demand, which is provided by my cable company.

I also have Hulu, which I use for any that are not On Demand, and if I miss one ON Demand before it expires. I also use it for older shows that are decent enough to watch with my granddaughters, like I Love Lucy and The Brady Bunch.

I also use the network apps, including Hallmark and CW to watch shows that aren't available On Demand.

Mostly cable, with Amazon Prime as a backup for what I can't find there. So far I haven't needed any of the other streaming services, but am getting very close to subscribing to YouTube Red.

No more cable/satellite for nearly 2 years. Netflix and Amazon have much better quality programs.
And no commercials!πŸ‘

I dropped my cable package recently and I'm happy about it. 1 month later and it's amazing how much happier I am not having product ads constantly pumped at me. I'll probably never look back.

What about shows, or documentaries? Netflix has many good educational documentaries available

The cost of cable vs. what you get Cable is on its way out. Tv company's and Cable need to quickly start rethinking the way they do business.

I don't even have cable anymore, there's no need. Between Netflix and Amazon I have plenty to watch, and I can see shows in order.
