Job opening: $12/hr. Heavy labor. Outdoor environment with various weather conditions. Requires you to move from county to county every few weeks. The work is seasonal.
Can't drive/No transportation
I don't like to travel. Im too out of shape for heavy labor. My allergies are too bad. That's not nearly enough money.
401K? Stock options? Per diem?
I'd do it if I needed a job and couldn't find anything else, for sure. I like the moving around part. Even better if it was country to country rather than just locally.
I did it one summer years ago... and made a *lot* less than $12/hr.
Not an experience I would ever want to repeat but things were tough for a few months.
The pay should be better than that, given the labor conditions. And yes, I'm well aware of what that would do to food costs. It doesn't matter who is doing the labor, the pay (and benefits) for them should be better. As it is, we've been taking advantage of cheap labor, just as we take advantage of cheap labor in other countries when our clothing and electronics are made elsewhere. We all want to buy cheap. We're not willing to work for cheap, ourselves, though. There's something fundamentally wrong with that, I think.
They can come here legally and work..it's just easier for them to do it illegally.
Current job is better.
Good job for illegals.
Or legal immigrant workers...
That's not even good pay
It's something that immigrants from Central America, legal or not, go through often. Of course, you wouldn't know.
