Moron Monday: Have you ever toppled a bookshelf or some other fixed object and caused it to fall on yourself?
there was a door leaning against a wall that my dad was going to put in... I was 8 and it fell on me. I needed stitches lol
Ugh. I can't stand the thought of getting stitches.
No, but when I was little I accidentally knocked a pair of scissors off a bookshelf. The fell point down and implanted deep in the floor about an inch away from my foot. This question just reminded me of that. It was really close.
When my sister and I were kids we toppled the TV set down when we were trying to clean it. :/
I bet it was a heavy one, too.
Yeah, considering it was almost 20 years ago. It still worked until a year or two ago, too! When we were having electrical surges, one of them fried it, we believe.
I heard on the radio this morning that in the last 20 years falling TVs have sent over 200,000 kids to the hospital.
I bet that number drops significantly when it becomes "the last five years," since TVs now weigh 40 lbs or less.
Thankfully, my sister and I are fine...but our parents were pretty mad! Haha.
Not necessarily, Liberty... think about how heavy a 40lb TV is when YOU only weigh 35. Haha. But yeah, probably.
I climbed on everything as a kid in my parents' office/shop. So I did this many, many times.
