YEAR OF BIRTH (another one I forgot, and this one is my own)
Method of entering year of birth is different between iPhone & iPad (Android?); they have different allowable years - why not the same?
On iPhone the latest available year is 2000, so anyone creating a new account on iPhone will automatically be at least 19.
Worse, in 2021 (hopefully we’ll still be here), all new accounts will be at least 21 - thereby throwing off the <21 vote category (and any other fine-tuned age-related categorization SOH may do).

SHAKE-A-POLL (another one I forgot to list)
Users have asked that the shake-a-poll feature be removed. With the Tap list, it’s not nearly as useful as it once was, and it’s easy to do by accident, thereby losing your place.

ANDROID (I have only a vague understanding of what the Android issues are, but I don’t want to leave Androidians out.)
Android users have mentioned numerous times that the app crashes a *lot,* including when they are writing comments - so they lose the whole comment.
iOS users, including Standard, no longer see ads. Apparently Androids still do.
One Android user mentioned that photo polls look blurry.
One Android user said there are ways to get around the Ignore feature - are they maybe different on Androids?

BUG LIST POLL: @Wert @jarod @omniku @paranoidandroid @GrandmaAlice @cpaswr @MrMilkDud @qmastrangelo @HammeringMan @4JC @MrsCrayonWax @voc @tony
Guys - Remember the project of compiling a *short* bug list for Tony? (I think everyone I tagged here was at least tagged into the earlier discussion; if this doesn’t sound familiar, ask me. But briefly, we wanted a relatively small group of people who had participated in one or more of recent “bug” discussions to try prioritizing the list of things that users had mentioned needed fixing etc., and to do it out of “public” view so that it didn’t get overwhelmed by “too many cooks” or too many unrelated conversations. So this, and the list, are posted in an old poll of mine that had few existing comments. If you lose track of notifications, you can get to it by searching “test poll.” It’s currently the 21st poll in the list that comes up, but I don’t know how to make navigating to it any easier.
(more... lots more...)

POPUP MENUS
REPORT (both poll and comment), IGNORE (from comment) and SHARE buttons need a comfirmation popup. It’s way too easy to hit the wrong one.

FONT issues
1. Can you please switch fonts to something where a lower-case “L” doesn’t look exactly like an upper-case “i”? (And any other similarities where accounts can be made with user names to impersonate other users. Maybe 0 & O?)
2. Allow larger font size, especially in comments.

PROFILE STATS
1. “Votes blue” was broken for a long time; everybody was 0%. Seems active again but inaccurate. Is it fixed? Do we need it? If not, could it be removed?
2. “Agrees w/you” was also broken for a long time; it also seems active again but inaccurate. (Also mentioned re the I Agree With page.)

PHOTO POLLS
Opting out of the photo poll Category works for user-made photo polls, does not always work for SOH photo polls.

IGNORE - related issues so I’m grouping them
1. Many want a list of users they have on ignore.
2. Some do, but more *don’t* want a list of users who have *them* on ignore -anticipating negative behavior. One, however, suggested having a list so you can send truce requests (through another user).
3. Close any loopholes for getting around being Ignored. (I don’t know what they are.)
4. User can be tagged into a poll made by a user who has them on ignore, if a 3rd user tags them. One user suggests this loophole be closed. It has some usefulness so please consider carefully. Also, user who made the tag won’t be aware the user on Ignore didn’t see the tag.

BACKWARD NAVIGATION
iPAD lacks a lot of very handy back-navigation options that the iPhone has (so you can go back from poll comments to poll list to profile to previous poll’s comments etc.)

SWIPE TO DELETE - while writing a comment
Please get rid of it. It’s all too easy to do it accidentally and lose everything you typed. And it’s completely unnecessary as a feature, in that situation anyway.

QUESTION menu option on Comments page
It DOES NOT APPEAR ON iPad. You can’t tell what the poll question is, or who posted it.
(This is probably the single most-requested item for iPad-only users. Not having that option is awful when you get a reply notification and can’t figure out what poll you landed it; it is even more awful if you get *tagged* into a poll you haven’t seen before; and it is *especially* even more awful if you get tagged into a poll posted by someone who has you on ignore.)

VOTING
Allow for seeing comments & results without voting (if poll doesn’t apply to you, but you want to see) (Some asked for *commenting* without voting; some just for *reading comments)
(This is a feature request that I know Tony said would never ever happen, and personally I very strongly hope that it never ever happens either, but it has consistently been one of the most requested features that I feel obliged to include it here, even though I’d like to just ignore it.)

NOTIFICATIONS
1. Notifications can cycle too fast, especially if a couple people go nuts in one or more threads, and some get lost. 50 notifications is not enough. Some suggestions:
a. Increase number of notification slots
b. Allow opting out of notifications for individual threads, or muting them (this was a very common request anyway, for when you get sick of a discussion)
c. Allow swipe removal of notifications user is finished with
d. Allow placing a “hold” on specific notifcations for set amount of time (24 or 48 hrs)

PRIVATE MESSAGES
3 of 4: iPAD - virtual keyboard covers text field and SEND button; almost unusable. Sometimes switching orientations & then back helps, not always. External keyboard sometimes has similar problems; for a while it was unusable too, seems OK recently

I. PRIVATE MESSAGES
[I imagine they were made klunky & frustrating to keep us from “abusing” them, but it can be awful.]
1 of 4: 1. iPHONE - no indicator of number of remaining characters; because text field is so small it’s hard to edit when you go over the 300 limit.

POLL QUESTIONS/ANSWERS - suggestions (these seem related so I stuck them together)
1. Answers: increase character limit from 15 to 20
2. Answers: allow commas (and other disallowed characters?)
3. Questions: increase character limit
4. Questions: allow all characters, and allow line breaks

1. Can Upgrades still be purchased, if a user wants to increase vote cap (and do manual targeting, if it gets fixed)?
2. Upgrade page has some outdated info.

POLL TARGETING
2 of 2: Manual (typed) targeting fails to work on the iPad for ALL users, Standard or upgraded. (User gets NO alert)
Also for manual targets, they used to be listed on the Upgrade web page. “SOHAH” target (and maybe others?) is no longer there. Does it still work, from iPhones? Androids? (Again, it doesn’t from iPads.)

I AGREE WITH page
2 of 2: Individual/users - stats were broken for a long time, then maybe fixed, then broken again (“Agrees w/you” stat on profiles were all 0%) and list became static. Seems resuscitated now, but not accurate.

Long-comment truncation. (The end of longer comments may get cut off; the cut may occur at different places on different devices; changing orientation may or may not restore it.)
