Did you ever have such a bad "Charlie horse" in your muscle..that it hurt the next day? I woke up in the middle of the night..with crippling pain in my calf..today the muscle is aching..

Happens to me occasionally. I take it as an indicator that I need more magnesium.

Eat more potassium. A banana a day keeps the cramp away!

I've had a few while playing sports so bad that I literally couldn't walk the next day. One of the worst pains ever.

If you get another , jump out of bed and stand on it and it will stop immediately.

no bad idea! I did that and fell over and had a huge bruise. 😳

if you get it again, extend your foot out and straight up and leave it for 15 seconds. it should then subside

Sometimes, but it's been a while. What did you do when you got the cramp in the middle of the night?

I always stretch the muscle against the direction of the cramp, as hard as I can. I'll usually stand up so I can stretch it better. If I do that, as soon as the cramp wakes me up, I've found that it goes away pretty fast (although I continue to stretch a bit longer, or else it comes back), and then the apparent muscle damage that results in pain the next day is minimized.
