Show of Hands

I wish I had known this and I would've been watching it. I've gotten some notifications this morning (which I haven't gotten to yet) that say it's ridiculous to say it's a conservative show. What do you say to that? Lol

The nature of the show is conservative. The star, Tim Allen, is a conservative while the rest of his family is either a liberal or moderate. The show basically makes fun of liberals.

I'm sure that's why they cancelled it. It's not like every other show doesn't make fun of conservatives, especially late night comedians! SMH

I've never seen it, but it was one of the top rated shows. I'm certainly going to check it out now! Lol

I hadn't heard they had cancelled it. So glad they didn't! They would've left us hanging. That is one of our fave new shows for this season! So much fun!

I've never seen it either. I didn't know it was so conservative, or I would have been! Lol I'm gonna pick up this season on Hulu, and then see if I can get the other seasons later, if I can get Netflix.

I don't watch shows based on its or its actors political leanings. I watch if I'm entertained by it. I've never seen a show with Tim Allen in it I haven't liked. He's a funny guy. I liked duck dynasty, and I like Stephen Colbert.

As far as I know, this is the ONLY tv show in which the politics lean conservative, though. That's why it's so important to so many.

Do you know of any other shows that lean conservative? I've also never seen a conservative comedian, at least not with a regular tv show.

I DO love Blue Bloods, but have never seen that as overly conservative, unless you consider that they're Catholics, a strong family that has weekly dinners and prays, and they support cops as conservative.

They did, but that was in like season 3 or 4. They were on for 11 seasons. Jeff foxworthy had are you smarter than a 5th grader. I loved that show too

Yes, I love Smarter. I had heard a rumor that it was coming back and it doesn't have an end date on IMDB, so I hope it is. Foxworthy also hosted The Great American Bible Challenge on the Game Show Channel, I think. I really enjoyed that.

A lot of those shows are from the middle of last century. Great shows too, but we have moved on as a society. Even in the conservative world we've moved on from that. Would trump ever been elected as a conservative president in the 1950's or 60's? Heck, I doubt if he would even in the 90's.

Which one are you referring to about hearing commercials? Bible? If so, I'll have to check into that. I didn't think it was still on!

Yes, you have a point. Definitely not about Trump. But I really miss the shows that I could watch with my kids as a family. I have to resort to old shows like The Brady Bunch with my granddaughters because there is nothing decent that I can allow them to watch nowadays! It's a crying shame, imho.

Duck Dynasty is/has aired last season this season - their choice to stop. There was a movement to shut them down a year or two ago but their ratings kept them on - they were the number one show on A&E at the time & there was more blowback about taking them off than keeping them on.

I've been surprised Last Man Standing lasted as long as it did - wasn't overly aggressive but clearly enjoyed doing precisely to PC agenda what PC agenda does on every other show RE conservatives. 😁

SJWs are why we can't have nice things on tv - or anywhere else without a huge fight. 😛

Thanks, Star! I know that I loved watching Sadie from Duck Dynasty when she was on Dancing with the Stars. She and Candace Cameron Bure both made it clear that their Christianity made their choice of costumes different from those the other girls wear, and they were both a good testimony of what it means to be a Christian!

I didn't realize it was conservative, or would've watched. Now, I can pick up the last season on Hulu, and maybe later the earlier seasons on Netflix.

You can get all but current season of shows on Netflix... current seasons are withheld for a certain period. I haven't figured out for sure how long but seems the last season becomes available shortly before the new season would start, by a month or so, when I've paid any attention.
