Former President Barack Obama has described his decision not to take retaliatory strikes against Bashar al-Assad after his 2013 sarin gas attack that killed over 1,000 Syrian civilians as an act that "required the most political courage." Thoughts?

His no decision led to the worst civilian refugee migration since WW 2. Not to mention the thousands killed by Assad after he was emboldened to continue using every means necessary from barrel bombs and the new Soviet Union.

Disagree, but political courage is relative. He chose political survival. He should have considered the viability of his bluff before it was called.

For O, I'd say that's probably about right. Pathetic.

Yeah. Cause it was the wrong decision and everyone jumped on him for it. If trump announced an ethnic cleansing program, that would require a lot of political courage too. Doesnt make it right.

If he had finished that sentence with "the most political courage I could muster," then I'd agree with him.

MrO is the opposite of moral courage. He hasn't a clue what it means!

The hundreds of thousands dead and the millions displaced by MrO's cowardice would disagree with the narcissistic MrO!

Wait I thought you supported Assad / Syrian government over the rebels?

I have no idea who to support. In general I do support Assad because toppling him would lead to chaos but I after you draw that red line....you better cross it or lose all respect in the world.
To be honest, as some people hate anything Trump does, I hate anything Obama does. I freely admit that.

Vladimir Putin stated that negotiating with Obama was like playing chess with a pigeon. He knocked over all the pieces, shits on the board, then struts around like it won the game. That seems rather accurate. I loved Obamas line that he went to Vova and told him to stop meddling in US elections and Putin stopped. Now, if you think a community organizer from Hawaii and Illinois could legitimately threaten the KGB covert agent from St Petersburg and East Berlin, I have beach front property for you in Nebraska.

Obama won one for no apparent reason.

So did Yasser Arafat. That prize has no meaning whatsoever anymore.

Obama won because he wasn't Bush. Very simple. He did nothing to deserve it. Other candidates were much much more deserving however, as I said, it lost all meaning when Arafat won the peace prize.

RT, I am referring to President Jimmy Carter. A kind, compassionate, caring human being. We can argue the semantics of his presidency but I won't. In terms of character, winner winner chicken dinner!!!

This comes as the Trump administration has revealed that Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, already infamous for executing thousands of political prisoners since the 2011 Syrian Revolution began, has actually been murdering more people than previously anticipated and incinerating their corpses in crematoriums.
