A Chicago jail went on lockdown Sunday after 500 hundred of officers called out on Mother’s Day for the second year in a row. How unfair! You can't do it, but I say dock them a days pay. (The unions would be apoplectic)
Don't break the law and get arrested. Problem solved
How is this any different than the people who called out to protest? A lot of people here cheered when they were fired for "a day without immigrants" bet they'd cry foul if these people got fired for this. They should be fired. There's plenty of people who will do the job and not call out. Don't choose a 24/7 job if you want weekends and holidays off snowflakes 😊
Disagree. 500 policeman out of 12244 is 4%. The city will survive. It is nice that they love their mothers.
12244 in one jail? I doubt it.
Not a union issue. I wonder what the issue is. Ultimately it would be a problem to fire the all. How many can prove a valid excuse. There is more to this. It wasn't a strike so they are not protected and it is now a pattern. Do you think they blame the inmates for their job?
