You are as old as the universe because matter cannot be created or destroyed.
Your polls make my brain hurt....love it! ;)
Consciousness is more than physical matter.
Pfff that's just crazy hippie talk.
The atoms im composed of are old, i am not.
If you take flour youve had for two weeks and use it to make fresh bread, is it two weeks old? No. It is something new entirely so its 'age' resets
We are made of star stuff, we are a way for the cosmos, to understand itself.
I agree that matter is not created.it has never been created naturally. But as far as we know it did happen. That is what they are so close to finding,'the God particle, mind of God.. I'm sure it won't be one force but closer to 5, if we find it.
It's the dark matter that doesn't exist in our reality
Matter moves all over the place, most of our cells and organs are completely replaced several times during our life. Our essence, our collection of information and memories, is what makes us who we are.
I would say part of me is as old as the universe, but my consciousness is usually when I think of as the beginning of me.
And the electrons that make up your consciousness emerged from where?
They have always been in existence. They came aboard me attached to the atoms of food and minerals that I have consumed. But there is more to consciousness than electrons, it is the complex arrangement of the system that is the beginning of me.
Define "you." Your atoms (or the components of them) may be old, but I don't consider a bunch of atoms spread around the earth, let alone the universe, as "me."
I have a question, when we grow, in size, and our hair, etc. where do those atoms come from? The food?
I'm pretty sure it is the food.
It must, cuz we ain't creating them.
That depends on what your question asks. Yes, our atoms are as old as the universe, no, we as beings are not. (by beings I mean all of those atoms coming together.
I am as old as the hills themselves... (read in a super mysterious Rafiki voice)
