Do you think Helen Thomas will be remembered more for her journalistic achievements (first woman to sit on the front row of WH pressroom, famously needling questions) or the controversy surrounding her retirement (disparaging remarks about Israel)?

She was a terrible person. So of course the media would glorify her.

The media will forgive her greatly. They'll decide for one of their own.

I had forgotten about the controversy. They remembered her on one of the Sunday news shows this morning and didn't even mention that. I'm sure she will be remembered for what she achieved.

I know I'll remember her most for the skit in Stephen Colbert's speech at the White House Correspondents' Dinner!

Honestly, I forgot about the controversy until it was reported along with her death & achievements.

I think it will be for her "where's the beef?" commercial.

Seriously though, her body of work overshadows minor missteps.

Unfortunately, people tend to look solely at the bad or controversial things which others have done, rather than the overall life which the person lived (referring to celebrities).

Seems to depend on who you ask, and what side of the aisle they're on, unfortunately. But I think ultimately her legacy will be one of a trailblazer with a big mouth.

I hope so.
