Have you trained a pet of yours to do any tricks?
I taught him to lick my thingy
My golden retriever can sit, speak, high five, shake, and roll over.. My other dog is a little stupid.. She can only sit.. Most of the time.
This made me laugh.
Not unless "sit" counts. Amd that doesnt always work.
Yes! All we have to say is "Prairie Dog" and two of our three dogs will sit up on their haunches and front feet up and in front. The youngest is in training. :0)
Not sure if this counts, but when I was nine or 10, I captured a baby cricket and trained it to tightrope walk..... True story, I swear....
My cat can fetch, sit, and shake. We're working on roll over
My lab is a Therapy Dog and he also helps teach kids Pet Safety. They love it when he gives high fives, army crawls, and speaks
my cat plays fetch with cough drops. not kidding, it's the craziest thing ever. but I don't really consider it a trick. it's her favorite game, but she's still a really lazy animal. in fact, sometimes she tries to train ME to come get the cough drop, rather than bringing it all the way back to me.
High five, roll over, play dead, and bow
The fabulous Mona cat does the same but she thinks she taught me to do a trick
What kind of dog do you have?
Your dog sounds awesome
Can you come train my kids to do that lol at least just the pick up toys trick...really I will pay you :)
I had a black lab a few years ago that if he couldn't hold his poo until I could get him out side he'd go in the tub I the only reason he did that is one time he was sick and I put him in there after that he'd just do it he was a smart dog I miss him
Does sit and shake hands count as tricks
Yes, a year or two ago I taught my dog to shake.
My shih tzu competes in agility and she's a therapy dog!
My cat fetches and plays hide and seek among other little games. Not a trick per say, but cute!
I also have a shih tzu she sits, speaks, lays down, paw, high five, and leaves a treat alone until I tell her she can have it. :)
Hey also rolls over and kind of jumps sometimes.
If I sneeze (or pretend to) he sneezes too! He'll do it like ten times right in a row if you keep doing it. He also sits, stays and comes when I call him. He shakes your hands, lays down, ect. We didn't really "train" him though. He just kind of does it.
I have two of the most unintelligent dogs in the world (both shih tzus), so unfortunately, no impressive tricks for us to show off????
I trained my cat to answer SOH questions
Had a Macaw that said "son of a *itch" every time he saw my mother's car (learned that at brother's house) & called my boss "putz"; & would tap on a neighbor's office door, enter and climb up on a chair for his morning donut.
My dog can sing better than a member of the SF gay men's chorus.
Ok too funny
Our letter carrier trained our dog to ride the mail cart. He's a working bread, border collie. Thought he was the cats pajamas.
He also knows 'hugs' to jump up and hug me and 'wanna box?' means it's time to play rough. I taught both those tricks to control unwanted behavior. He doesn't jump up unless its for a hug, and there's no rough play without me asking for it.
My dog rolls over and plays dead when I point my finger and 'shoot' him. It's quite the party trick!
You must own a Bulldog.
Our cat BW uses a toilet instead of a litter box. he learned this at the age of 13.
Kujo knows how to sit, come, stay, jump up, get down, kiss, get in his crate, and give me five (shake). However, he only does it when he wants. ????
When let outside to go to the bathroom we don't close the door, just leave it cracked. When she is done she comes in and closes the door.
Sit. Down. Stand. Sit pretty. Stand up. Walk back. Spin. Play dead. Roll over. Snap teeth. Shake with both paws. Bow. Plus we do agility!
Sweet! I do agility with my dogs too!
My dog can't read.
One of my biggest hobbies is to teach my dogs to do tricks. I've taught my Boston Terrier to jump through hoops, pick up her toys, and even ride a skateboard, among other things.
Cool! I do agility with my dogs too!
My dog can sleep for twenty hours straight.
My parents have their dogs ring a bell too. The cats caught on and started ringing the bell for the dogs to go out when they got annoyed with the dogs.
I don't teach my dogs tricks. I just like to love them and let it be.
My cat fetches.
Got my dog to climb a tree.
Well, I would, but my sister's cat is a fat, lazy bit*h. It's so fun to have him around, though. :)
She once asked me to see things from her perspective, so I took a glance out of the kitchen window.
By not voting my elected representatives out of office I've trained them that its ok to spout conservative values while at home and to act like democrats when they go to Washington. I'm now working on hiring new dogs.
My Lab rings a bell with her paw when she needs to go out. She walks by my side without a leash and is not distracted even by a squirrel. She will sit on the front porch all day waiting for me. She won't leave the porch unless given the ok. I love her!
How about retrieving the morning paper?
