You see a decently-dressed man hitchhiking. He has a few belongings and is nowhere near a prison. Do you help him out?
I want to but as a disabled woman I can't dare risk it while I'm alone.
Not until I get my conceal and carry license
Not unless i have my hubz with me.
He'd say 'F'm'
After I just read James Patterson's "Kiss the Girls" no way!
Not going to pick him up, but I might check if I could do anything else.
I've picked up short term hitchhikers or just people walking down a highway several times. Never once an issue. Now I do instruct my daughters to never, ever, under any circumstance follow my lead. Do as I say, not as I do? Yup
I regret passing a hitchhiker today. Temps were near 100* and he had a heavy backpack. Truth is, I didn't pick him up because my exit was coming up in just 5-6 miles. Later I wondered if he wouldn't have appreciated even a short air conditioned ride.
There was someone in a nice car on the side of the road around 10p earlier, but didn't get a good look because of the speed and dark. It would've been nice to have stopped just to help out in any way. It must suck to get stuck like that at that time.
If he looks like me in a tuxedo.........HELL NO!!!!
Nope, just not a good idea.
Nope, looks can be deceiving.. unless the car was stopped, and we happened to talk, then quite possibly so.
I did this a few months back. Thought the guy was going to ask directions or something. Instead, he asked for a ride. He was so incredibly appreciative. He was trying to get to a job interview & his car wouldn't start. I hope he got the job.
Yeah, saw a guy running after his bus. Talked to him. Found out it would be another hour til the next one, and he'd be late. So, offered to drive him to work, and he was early.
You are a good person
These days, its just not safe.
