Is your cell phone possessed by demons? I think mine is.
My iPhone's lock button is like my neighbor's deadbeat husband. It won't work.
No, that just the NSA electronics in it.
I believe I have electronic voodoo.
LOL - sorry Susan
Oh, it was pretty easily fixed... Once I found the hidden place to control it. Since I never use the app, I'd forgotten there was a general audio player control. Then I just wondered what weird stuff other people had encountered.
Yep. And every time I get it near water they all flock to a select group of keys to prevent them from working.
My iPhone asks for the apple ID over and over again. If I enter it it will say it incorrect. If I reset it it won't work the next day. I know it right because apple remembers it an informs me I can't use it again. Very frustrating no new apps.
I can't imagine never getting new apps. It sounds like your phone isn't linked to that Apple ID. I'd ask in the Apple discussion forums, to start.
My phone doesn't receive text messages until at least 2 days after they're sent.
I don't get some from my daughter until long after they're sent, but I think the problem is on her end.
I had a battery eating demon once -- tracked it down to a single app, which I deleted... (100% to 30% over the course of an hour on an iPhone 4S - now I get an easy 16 hours...)
That's a good demon to know about, & eliminate!
What app was it, if you don't mind telling?
As soon as I deleted it, battery consumption returned to normal. I only used it with 2 other people, so it was no big loss...
Probably because it was constantly recording your location and reporting it to the server. Very quick drain would result.
Yep - constant GPS + data = battery sucker...
All of my iThings are possessed by demons, and I'm pretty sure they get reinforcements and new, more devious mission assignments every time I sync with iTunes. There are demons in the devices, but iTunes is the Devil.
Hahaha! I haven had problems with iTunes (that I'm aware of) but I've hear some horror stories.
Mine sends emails.
Ooh... friendly ones, kinky ones, or spammy ones?
Lol, not yet anyway.
Today it is. My Google Maps just suddenly stopped working so I had to log out, log back in and turn the phone on/off. THEN it decided it was okay.
I think it's PMS'ing more than demonic actions at this point. Maybe yours is male?
That could be part of the problem... I hadn't considered that!
Obviously, it's an Apple product.
All good with my iPhone 5! Love it :D
Isn't that what autocorrect is? ;)
Yes. I'm convinced that both autocorrect and Siri have achieved consciousness, & are conspired to screw with our heads. So there's that...
I literally just got a new phone a few hours ago. So not yet! I would have said yes about my old phone. It was so glitchy!
I'm not sure that's possible.
It might be. It constantly freezes up on me and shuts off by itself. I'm thinking about getting that Samsung Galaxy actually. Maybe it will be better than my iPhone.
Only bad thing is youll be downgrading your soh experience.
Yeah, I didn't even think about that, Nick. :-/
But thats tonys fault, not androids fault.
As long as you have Wi-Fi, you can use the iPhone for SOH still. That's what I do :)
Anyone who has ever read Terry Pratchett knows that such devices are powered by imps.
My home screen is the chic from the Exorcist!
my phone is a brick so...
In my opinion, computers are like fire: if you don't know how to properly use it, it goes out of control, but if you know how to use it, it's extremely helpful.
My phone is like a moody teenager. I tell him to do something and he does something else. Then he'll crash, whine, and move slowly when I tell him to do something.
my droid x was. my iPhone 4s and droid razr Maxx HD hqve been awesome
Mine likes to close SoH randomly while I'm browsing polls...really weird
Yeah, that happens to me too. I usually close the app, quit all open apps (I often find I have 10-15 open - but not always!) & that *usually* helps a lot.
Oh yeah. My android is possessed. It crashes at random times when browsing chrome. I still love my little possessed monster though.
They are very lovable, even with their quirks.
My old phone was... It would randomly tap everywhere on screen for no reason.
My Android is possessed by a little green robot - no, wait, that's just the trademark.
My iPhone suddenly started showing cover art from iTunes as my lock screen graphic, instead of the mouse picture I drew myself & have used for years. I just QUIT all apps. ALL. When I put my earbuds in, some spoken-word story is playing...
No idea what it is. Checked again - no apps open. WTF? Has anything like this happened to you?
What's the spoken word story?
Turn it on and off...?
Go to your music app, Now Playing, and hit the Pause button.
My iPod 5 does freaky things with the keyboard, but nothing as weird as that!
It always shows the cover art of whatever's playing.
Thanks, I figured it out. The icon for the Apple Music app - which I virtually NEVER use - is hiding & doesn't show in the open apps area, unless you slide the seemingly blank area to the right. So it was open but didn't show up.
That's the music player. It shows whatever app is playing audio at the time.
I still have no idea how it got turned on - it's on the last page of apps where I almost never go.
Freaked me because my audiobooks are all in the Audible app, which was CLOSED.
I still think the phone is possessed.
If you go to the audio player and hit play, you don't need to open the app.
Thanks, Puppy, I know that's the music player. But since I never use it, I wasn't anywhere near it, & it was playing a story not music (& I THOUGHT all stories were in another app) it confused me.
What, then, is the audio player, and where is it that I would turn it on?
Understandable. Phones are freaky sometimes :P
Double tap the home button to open the multitasking bar. Then swipe your finger to the right (so you're going to the left) and you'll see rotation lock/mute and the audio player.
You can also double-tap the home button from the lock screen to access music controls.
I've started Voice Control accidentally a few times—in my pocket of all places!
That's funny, FIAT. Happened to me when I was getting off a bus. I still can't figure out how I triggered it.
If you hold down the home button, Siri pops up. You can also set it to turn on when you hold it up to your ear.
It sounds like you are playing something!
Check all your music apps...
(Radio, Podcast, iTunes, Music and so on...)
