Show of Hands

I borrowed 50 from Dad and 50 from Mom to buy a bag that costs 97. After the purchase I had 3 left. I returned 1 to Dad, 1 to Mom. I kept 1 for myself. I still owe 49+49=98 + 1 I kept = 99. Where is the missing 1?
