Lowe's is a private company & can do business with whoever they choose. If they choose not to support pro Muslim propaganda then so be it.

12/27/11 12:41 am

i don't agree with their reasons, but this has been a standard practice for companies forever. It's a companies prerogative to make these decisions based on their beliefs, complaints received, ambitions, whatever. And it's our prerogative to react how we want. Yay for free country while it lasts!

And btw, Lowes has the right to express bigotry but it is still bigotry and they will lose customers over it!!!!

The ONLY reason they pulled advertising in the end was because there are Muslims on the show, and the "concerned" people are all bigots, therefore making their decision an act of BIGOTRY.

Why shuld customers be concerned? Muslims are people too and if lowes wants to support the tv show who cares?

That's because it's not Carabella1. Would you like to force companies to advertise on programs they disagree with? I would hope not, but people are strange these days.

I've never heard of this stupid show. But Lowes has the right to pull their ads on any show they, or their customers, dislike. "the customer is always right"

hmmmm... Republicans don't think this is racist. Very interesting.

Seems to me that Lowe's was simply trying to keep their customers happy with them

12/18/11 4:38 pm

Why is that considered rasict?

Last time I checked, Lowes is a private company and can make their own decisions.

I don't want to live in this country anymore.

12/18/11 5:42 am

This gave Lowes more up paid marketing then having their commercial aired!!!

12/17/11 12:54 am

Perot4prez- the show depicted muslims as normal americans. The Family Florida Assosiation decided that all muslims practice Sharia (Muslim Law) which the muslims on the show do NOT practice. The FFA is claiming that the show is meant to brainwash americans or something like that

12/17/11 12:43 am

Lowes didn't pull thier commercals because of customer concerns. The Florida Family Assosiation got a little pissy and persuaded lowes to pull the ads. Good job Lowes, now the government may file a discrimination suit

12/16/11 9:16 pm

Why it is controversial to depict Muslims as non-terrorists? Isn't this like boycotting a show about Italian-American families because no one is connected to organized crime, Irish-American families because no one is a cop or hillbillies that have teeth and don't sleep with their cousins.

What's done is done. Loews pulled their ad. If they don't want to be associated with the show, then they have every right to not be involved. It's their prerogative.

@bbkkanders holy nuts that was one of the dumbest statements I have ever read. This is not a question about what a theocracy would do, this is a question about the morals that America stands for. One of those morals is not to become a theocracy, the other is not to show bias against religion.

Lowes did the right thing. They should do the same thing if it were Christian or hindu.

Playboy magazine used to be the most popular magazine read by men. But the preachers minions wrote their crap, and advertisers pulled out of the mag. Without ad dollars, less money for best writers and fewer pages. Quality of mag drops and circulation declines.

I HATE that some religious group can write enough letters to make big businesses avoid certain tv shows or magazines. Let the public cast their vote by watching and reading what they want. Let advertisers follow the crowd.

acting out hate is wrong. if you want people to see your point of view, calling them stupid will most likely not have the results you desire.

wytisright. why do you think calling someone stupid will somehow influence anyone to your point of view? I was listening to Jackie o's tpe today. she said to JFK . I hate the gov of tx. he said don't. if u think it you wil act it.

Again the fringe group of conservatives disrespect service members of our government. First the openly gay soldier and now this show. How sad we don't support our fellow Americans 

Once again the Republicans show just how stupid they are.

I'm going to buy my new thermostat at Lowe's now instead of Home Depot.

12/15/11 10:34 pm

Hi. Does anyone here REALLY care which company advertises on which lame brain TV show? Really? This is just on dumb preacher calling his followers to blindly do his bidding. Sheep will be sheep.

We as Americans are culturally divers this is one reason why we are suppose to stand out and be the model to how to be culturally divers

we as Americans MUST stop being so worried about hurting feelings. if you go to a muslim country I bet they don't have a show called Lebanon Americans. this is STUPID

12/15/11 7:09 pm

it probably is, but it's a difficult time for this group. Historically this is what happens during times of conflict and whenever a new ethnic group starts entering the U.S. let's face it, they've gotten a lot of bad press and people are wary whether they deserve it or not.

You totally missed the point ntvtx... The point is... If the majority of us dislike a group of people for whatever reason... No labels, laws, or facts are going to change that the majority opinion rules. Right or wrong, it's just the way it is.

12/15/11 12:12 pm

Nope, just a news story to generate ratings and make all of us idiots believe it's something a hell of a lot bigger than it really is. 49% of you are retarded.

12/15/11 11:00 am

Hazhap- you missed ether whole gay issue, so you missed thi.
The gays say they're like you & me- they aren't. I don't care what happens behind closed doors- but if you want to get crude about so will I- they aren't normal. Do they reproduce naturally? If it weren't for science they're die out.

ORinNY New York
12/15/11 10:49 am

Hazhap, that makes total sense. What's true or morally right shouldn't have anything to do with reason or facts, it should simply be based on what the majority believes.

12/15/11 9:50 am

I don't think it's bigotry. They just jumped the gun IMO. It's not called "American Jihadist" after all.

12/15/11 9:32 am

It's bigotry in that it succumbs to bigotry. People very obviously balk at the title of the show, without sampling its substance. "America" and "Muslim" together scares the mouth-breathers.

hazhap1 Las Vegas
12/15/11 7:39 am

Bigotry or not, so what? Just like with the homosexuals... If the majority of us discriminate against them, what does it matter if it's wrong?

12/15/11 6:53 am

Not bigotry. Cowardice.

12/15/11 5:50 am

If this was bigotry why they place an add in the first place? They where lied to about content!

12/15/11 5:47 am

If they thought most Americans would be against this they would not do it. They are for it because of how the show was done and other business are following suit.

Remember after the bp oil spill and that CEO was not sensitive to the the Americans in the golf coast so he lost his job, should the same happen to the CEO of lowe's?

Chopper2 Georgia
12/15/11 5:05 am

Cultural sensitivity can go a long why and without it one can appear to be a bigot

12/15/11 3:51 am

@Logic: exactly! Trying to hide bigotry behind the thin veil of "Business decisions" is cowardly at best. Lowe's is s very large company in no danger of going out of business if it had the backbone to stand up to the pressures of anti-Islam groups. Their choice promotes racism against Muslims.

I wish I was in Dixie, hooray...hooray...
