Did you read at least one book for fun in 2016?

I read for fun all the time. Rather a good book than the tv or a movie any day!

As many as I can. I live first for God, then my family, and then for the magic of stories.

My mom could read like that but not me. My mind can't process that fast lol. She loved everything from King to Sanford and Child.

I probably could but don't want to. I like to savor the story. I will
S T R E T C H a short book out. This is why I LOVE long books and dislike short stories.

1-2 books a week. I just read a Zane Gray novel, "Riders of the Purple Sage" and am catching up on Analog sci fi magazines. After that I will read the latest Marx Bros. bio.

It's an autobiography of this guy's life as a banker for Goldman Sachs, and everything he witnessed and experienced in his time there. I heard about it from the twitter account @GSElevator

I wish. In High School I would have a new book every week! Since I've been in college these past few years, I haven't read a single book for fun. I really miss it. Maybe that'll be one of my New Years Resolutions :)

I unfortunately read few books this year for fun. My goal next year is to read 2-3 books a month.

Yep, not as many as I would like though. Need to hit up the library and get back in the reading groove

Some people don't read for fun. Or they don't specifically read books, but maybe short stories or other written media. Doesn't mean they're illiterate or something. I answered no for a mix of both reasons.

All of the books I've read in quite a while have been read for fun. Even the educational books, because I needed that new knowledge or skill to build something fun. For fun.

Yes, several. Mostly videogame-related stuff this year. There's a LOT of wool to gather on that subject...more than I would have believed possible.

Went on a Vonnegut bender right around May....mostly re-reads, but it morphed into a Chuck Palahniuk bender and I got a few new ones in that I've meant to read for a long time, and just haven't gotten around to. It was a literarily weird Spring/Summer

Did you like Chuck? I'm a huge vonnegut fan thinking about trying fight Club (my favorite movie) and others.

12/27/16 9:34 am

Lol. We may be related. My favorite movie as well...loved Chuck. If you like Vonnegut, they share the same dark sense of comedy while writing notably different stylistically...I wouldn't start off with Fight Club though (although it's absolutely a must read). If I could be so bold, I'd recommend starting with "Survivor" to get a feel for him before going on to Fight Club as you'll likely go into Fight Club with preconceived notions from the movie. Either way...give Chuck 3 books before making a final judgement. Lemme know what you think!
