Have you ever been, or a family member deployed over the holidays? G-d bless you and thank you. 🇺🇸. Three of my sons are overseas for Christmas more than once. Got to talk to my middle son by shortwave radio from Italy.
Not deployed over Christmas, but one was at boot camp during. That sucked.
My uncle was killed in WWII and my nephew was in Afghanistan
I'm so sorry.
Thank your sons for their service.
Service to our country is the most honorable job there is. You should be very proud.
Thank you I'm very proud of my sons.
In over 20+ years many times.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
My boyfriend is not deployed, but is away for six months at a training for the Marine Corps. He will not be home for Christmas
So sorry honey.
Missed a couple years worth of holidays and the birth of my daughter...

"G-d"? Why not "God"?
Several of my friends here are Jewish. And the Jewish leave the middle letter out as subway I believe of honoring God. Not supposed to say the name of God so they printed that way.
Oh wow, interesting.
If you follow @grandmaAlice she is a Jewish lady and she asked some very interesting questions. Thank you.
Iv seen her around and she seems cool. I'll give her a follow :-)
Very good idea. She is one very very smart lady.
She always gives in dept responses. Do you know if she has a doctorate? Iv always assumed she does.
SusanR does. I don't know about Alice. She is very educated and very smart.
Thanks for all the kind words! No, I don't have a doctorate. 😊
You have a doctorate in common sense 😀

Bless you. What an awful situation. Thankful you are home safe. Are you getting any kind of therapy for all that trauma?
"Welcome Home!"..... Thank You for your service, a humble Nation always remembers its fallen and honor those who" stand the wall"......
My father was on a submarine over many holidays but he was a Soviet mariner so......it's a bit, well.....no need to thank him for his service. Lol 😂😂😂
Hey man.....I was spending my Christmases underwater hunting your Dad! Don't miss those days.
Neither does he. He just feels happy to be alive
Sums up my feelings too. No nostalgia here.
🇺🇸squid you are a hero. Thanks to you a girl got some Christmas.
No one in my family since my dad was in World War 2. There aren't many of us left.
My father had smallpox in one eye and then poison ivy so he was not able to serve in roadwork to he worked on the Alcan highway instead.
Spent one Christmas at sea in the South Pacific aboard the USS Proteus. We sailed from Pearl Harbor in route to Sydney, Australia.
We crossed the International Date Line and the Equator at the same time. That makes me a Golden Shellback in the court of King Neptune.
Most interesting was observing the different moods of the sea. It was a memorable trip.
That sounds lovely. I live very close to the ocean. I love to see it change Shore Acres state park it's not too far from us. It's amazing to watch the huge waves crash into the cliffs.
I have been.
Two of my sons were in the United States Navy one son was in the United States Army and one son-in-law was in the United States Marine Corps. All of them came home alive and in one piece. Of my friends was not so fortunate.
