Look what has happened to today's youth. They didn't get who they wanted in the presidential election and all we're seeing are temper tantrums.

To many ribbons and trophies and this is what was created.

No, kids need to learn that you can't always get what you want, and that only winners deserve awards. I threw out all of my participation trophies the other day.

No, but all this "participation ribbon" outrage is silly. We take competition seriously. Too seriously sometimes. It's really a non-issue.

Idk. A certificate maybe. It depends entirely on the age of the child and the type of endeavor.

Yes if it is a difficult challenge like a long race or obstacle course (Tough Mudder, etc.), and no if it is a team sport where you don't have to try for one.

Maybe elementary school, past that, no.
