Mr. Obama and Mr. Reagan: Is Mr. Obama correct that Mr. Reagan would be offended with Mr. Trump's approach to Russia?
Toward the end of his presidency, Reagan and Gorbachev were close friends.
Different times require different approaches. The US is not under threat of a nuclear attack by a non-existent Soviet Union.
Putin has great respect for Obama and his leadership. I just know it.
I honestly think Reagan would disapprove of Trump's open approach to Putin. Reagan wanted peace, but he was also much less willing to trust. Reagan's biggest dream project was a "Star Wars" missile defense system that was intended to blow Soviet nuclear missiles out of the air before they hit us.
Ronald Reagan had the most cordial relationship with with a Russian leader of any modern POTUS. Trump is approaching Russia and friendly caution, the same approach Reagan had. Obama on this, like most things, is making a fool of himself.
I don't think uber liberal Obama can speak for the now deceased conservative Reagan. Maybe it's just me.
Lmao, Obama is not "Uber liberal."
Reagan had nothing against Russia. His beef was specifically on communism. Russia is no longer communist. Reagan would (in my opinion) be happy that Trump wants to get along with another Superpower. It decreases the chance of a third world war. In the near future.
He's one of the most liberal presidents the US has ever had, yes?
Recently every democrat who gains enough power to become under republican attack gets labeled "the most liberal democrat ever" as if that's an insult. Actually, in my lifetime I found presidents Kennedy and Johnson to be much more liberal than Obama.
