Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that he was prescribed the drug Fentanyl and ended up abusing it. Do you find this hypocritical of the President who is leading the anti-drug crackdown in the country?

Drugs don't explain him being an evil jerk

Being a hypocrite and being inconsistent are 2 different things

True, but this would be an example of hypocrisy. That is, doing the same thing you criticize in others.

He can criticize all he wants. A hypocrite is someone who says you can do x but I can do x. Saying drugs are bad then doing said drugs doesn't make you a hypocrite, it makes you inconsistent

Saying drugs are bad and users should be executed, and then abusing drugs yourself makes you a hypocrite

He's saying exactly that Philippine citizens can't use drugs, but he can. That is hypocritical.

Saying someone can't and doing them yourself are 2 different things. He's not a hypocrite. You don't know the meaning of the word

You're just contradicting yourself now...
- "A hypocrite is someone who says you can't do x but I can do x"
- "Saying someone can't and doing them yourself are 2 different things. He's not a hypocrite."

He's saying that the Philippine people can't do drugs, but he can. That makes him a hypocrite. Inconsistent would be if he says that female drug users should be executed, but male drug users shouldn't. Or if he executes Joe Schmoe for having marijuana, but gives his wife a pass for having marijuana. That is inconsistent, because he is not acting the same way when confronted with similar situations. Hypocrisy is about one's actions not matching the impression/rules they give others. His rules are that all drug users should be executed. He is a drug user, but he should not be executed. That is hypocrisy. I don't think you understand the difference.

I'm not contradicting myself. You didn't watch the video did you? Saying one thing and doing another DOES NOT make you a hypocrite. The general public has a very distorted view of true hypocrisy. The word is used way too much. I am a Christian who slips up from time to time. Does that make me a hypocrite? Is everyone who doesn't practice what they preach hypocrites. No!

Makes him human, admitting having a problem. But I still think he's a monster for the way he's killed people.

Senator Leila de Lima of the Philippines came out and said that Duterte needs to stop abusing Fentanyl as it is making him a madman. It's funny how this man calls for the execution of anyone suspected of using drugs, yet he seems to be free from any punishment.

Someone should execute him
