Which of these two incompatible sources is more powerful as creating direction and policy among the American right wing? Christianity or the writing of Ayn Rand.
I find it interesting that the voting is almost 2/3 Christianity, however there has yet to be a single comment outlining that idea
I mean Ayn Rand is better than Karl Marx, and I may not be a fan of Christianity's history, but it's a better alternative than the the Degenercy modern liberals try to push.
I couldn't make sense of that as far as what you meant to say
You seem to not like either source, and associate it with conservativism. What I'm trying to say it's a better alternative than "writings" and social policies that are commonly associated with Liberalism.
I find value in portions of Christianity, as I do with several religious traditions
I chose these two, because they are among the most often claimed by conservatives in my experience.
Ann, who ?
One of her most famous works is called Atlas Shrugged
Not all republicans are Christian
And most support secularism
You can be a non-Christian and still adopt several of its principles in terms of how we treat each other
I was raised in a Christian household, however I consider myself an agnostic.
I realized how incorrect I was after commenting, I mostly commented to come back to this poll later though
Ayn Rand. The right really doesn't adhere to the teachings of Jesus
I think it's clear it's Ayn Rand.
No doubt. Christianity is just used to manipulate, as it always has been.
And because her predictions have actually happened.
I don't buy that narrative at all
Then you're not paying attention.
I pay attention far more than you might be inclined to believe
I'll adjust my comment to
If Ayn Rand's writing are come to pass, it is primarily if not solely because those who are fans of her writing actively worked to make it so,
I've read the book
It was awful
You think the fans of Rand worked to effect the government takeover of medicine? I think not. You should read the book.
It is a novel but a very prophetic one. Many of the things foreseen have actually happened. That's what makes it so unique.
It was a mediocre work of fiction with ridiculous conclusions
Conclusions which actually came to pass.
Prove that her writing has become fact.
All you have to do is read the book to see that. I think I'll read it again so I can give you all the evidence. For one thing she forecast the government takeover of medicine. Perhaps I'll make another poll about it after I've read it again.
Medicine is still predominantly private sector
