In 2017 a doctor is planning on doing the first human head transplant of a paralyzed man onto a new body. Critics say the chemistry difference of the new body could bring a level of insanity never seen. If you were paralyzed would you try this?

Depends to what degree I were to be paralyzed. Maybe if I was a C1-3 level quadriplegic and couldn't move basically at all.

I dunno but I'm excited to see how this turns out.

Yes, but with the surge in recent device technology, we're about ten years off from a solution implanted through compassionate use.

I lived through caring for a brother in law that broke his neck diving in the river on his 21st birthday and was paralyzed from the neck down. For the victim it's worse than death. And they pray to die everyday. It's very difficult and it takes years to accept it and keep up the will to live. The burden you put on the people that love you is beyond anything you'd ever want to put someone through. So I can understand how someone would do anything to have some relief. But, this probably won't work and it's a pipe dream. If you could reattach your head to another body, why couldn't you just reattach your own?

Good point. If they're able to connect the head to someone else's spinal cord, why can't they rewire your own?

Normally I am not crazy about experimenting on humans, but it would be a way for a person to serve humanity and correct a nightmarish condition. It would certainly seem worth the risk!
