I'd also add that they should be reasonably experience with actual guns before that as well since a BB gun blurs the line between toy and potentially dangerous tool a little too much.
I was the same! I was 80 lbs at 12. I grew up to 5'10" 170lbs strapping man though. 😜 My boys have all been small too. My current 12 year old is about the same as I was. How tall are you?
I would disagree with that. I was given a BB gun at age 8 and taught how to handle a gun properly. After words I didn't show much interest until about 15 when I was taught how to work and maintain my own gun. Those habits that I developed early in life carried over. A healthy fear of guns is also vital to gun safety. This worked for me but may not for everyone.
