If the Obamas are Christians shouldn't they have hope no matter who is president?

That's a very big "if." I don't believe for a minute that either one of them is a sincere Christian. In fact, it's patently obvious that he doesn't even understand what it MEANS to be a real Christian.

If you actually read the context of the quote, they do

"If" being the key word. They hate America and are not Christians.

If Barry Soetoro loved America, he wouldn't of fundamentally changed it.

And how exactly did he do that?

UnConstutional ObamaCare and hate and race riots over lies like "hands up, don't shoot"

Because Obama totally controls every single black person, and how exactly is Obama care unconstitutional?

List one letter, paragraph or syllable, from our founding fathers, that they thought Government should be controlling healthcare. Nothing says American values like the Government forcing people to buy healthcare or face the IRS and jail time.

They have not been spotted climbing the church steps since he took office. He only goes "when he has to" like holidays or funerals. He spends Sunday's golfing. When the Clintons, Reagan's, Bushes and Carters were in office the news would always show them climbing the steps to church.

RagingMystic covfefe

Okay but that doesn't make it unconstitutional

Of course it does. 🙄

Nothing says Christian like banning people based on who they love

Good luck next time. Maybe you'll have a valid point but I doubt it. ✌🏻

I find it hard to believe that people who embrace abortion and homosexuality can think they are Christians.

Regardless whatever faith they do/do not practice, they are both ardent partisan ideologues to the point that factors into their world view more than other single variable.

The Obamas claim to be avid Christians. Christians live by the tenets of Christ first and not this world. I could cite dozens of verses.

Have the people on this app claim to be Christian and absolutely don't! Let he without sin.......

Amazing how this religion thing seems to have different rules to accommodate different people....

SugarShaq

What different "rules?" I don't consider Christianity to be rules at all. And the "rules" one would generally associate have nothing to do with hope. Hopeful is a state of being, not a rule.

Michelle Obama is not saying that there is no hope. She said "this is what it feels like to not have hope." She is empathizing with the people that have felt marginalized by the rhetoric heard from DT throughout his campaign. But there is no doubt that she comes across as being very disappointed in the president elect because indubitably she is.

All the while half of the country felt marginalized, and frankly attacked, for 8 long years. Was she feeling it then?

Attacked? By whom? You're either very paranoid or guilty of being the very thing y'all love to call liberals: a big fat baby snowflake ❄️😫😩😖😩😫

I would call people being put out of businesses because of their personal beliefs attacked. What do you call that?

I call that being a cry 😭 baby! They weren't put out of business because of their beliefs, they were put out of business because of their prejudice. The backwards thing about that particular debacle is that Christians aren't supposed to be discriminating against people they have differences with. They are supposed to emulate the behavior of Jesus who would not tell someone that he won't take their money in exchange for his services because he doesn't agree with whom they love.

I don't fault those who chose to stick to their principles and beliefs, as distorted as they were, for refusing services. But that was their decision. That decision had consequences and ultimately, only they are responsible for their decisions and the results thereof. The lesson to be learned is that hate and prejudice never lead to a positive outcome.

And i thought the free market was supposed to enforce consequences for your actions? If you deny service to someone based on who they love (which is an attack that isn't on straight white people btw), and people boycott you, that's the market working as intended

SugarShaq
12/18/16 2:13 pm

Do you think Jesus never rebuked anyone? Do you honestly think Jesus would make a cake with gay figurines on top? Seriously.

SugarShaq
12/18/16 2:14 pm

And the free market didn't have a chance to work. Folks were fined well over 100k by their state.

You have a very narrow Evangelical Christian type of understanding of Jesus. I don't mean that as an accusation. It's the same version I grew up knowing in the Southern Baptist denomination. I can't fault you for having been indoctrinated the same way I was. But to answer your question, no, I don't think Jesus was homophobic nor do I think he would have a problem with "gay figurines" on top of a cake intended as a symbol of lasting love between two men. And Jesus rebuked people for placing idols before God. He was pretty insistent that there is only one God and his ONLY condition he placed upon people was that they believe in Him (God).

There are many people who are Christians that "should" do certain things, but don't. C'est la vie.

Be more specific. What has she done politically? That's something you could easily look up. Religiously? That's really none of our business. Generally? Been a First Lady, I don't know.

What exactly are you asking and how does it relate to my statement?

SugarShaq

She stated that Americans no longer have hope. That is everyone's business and just plain wrong.

Well many don't. Whether you (or I) think they should doesn't change the facts.
