If the penalty for killing an innocent person is the death penalty, and the death penalty sometimes kills innocent people, shouldn't the death penalty receive the death penalty (i.e. be abolished)?
If killing innocent people gets you the death penalty, and the death penalty is used to execute innocent people, then the death penalty deserves the death penalty, no?
One is too many. It doesn't matter how many lives you save. If you murder an innocent person, that's it for you. Why isn't it the same for the death penalty?
