If the penalty for killing an innocent person is the death penalty, and the death penalty sometimes kills innocent people, shouldn't the death penalty receive the death penalty (i.e. be abolished)?

Like I say over and over. There are people who should not be breathing.

Should we imprison jailers who jail kidnappers?

Yes, though I'm not sure if it actually has killed innocent people.

I've heard that 4%-5% of convicts that receive the death penalty are later found innocent.

No, that doesn't make sense.

If killing innocent people gets you the death penalty, and the death penalty is used to execute innocent people, then the death penalty deserves the death penalty, no?

No, because there are far less innocent people executed than there used to be, and it is decreasing.

One is too many. It doesn't matter how many lives you save. If you murder an innocent person, that's it for you. Why isn't it the same for the death penalty?

Because it is a necessary deterrent and can be used as a last resort.
