(From an online political quiz) What are your thoughts on private business regulations? (Should they be strict?)
I think that Trump will work to lessen regs on small business. Even his tax plan will really help small business.
Better than none, but private business shouldn't exist.
Private business shouldn't exist? Do you feel the government should own everything?
No. I'd like the means of production to be in the hands of those who use them, i.e., the workers.
Isn't that what small business is?
Small businesses still maintain hierarchy. There is a CEO and division of labor. I'd like to see a worker cooperative style organization of the workplace.
Who would be responsible for signing the paychecks, paying vendors and taking care of contracts?
In a market economy, that would come from the collectively shared pot of revenue, and all decisions about paying would come from the democratic will of the workers. Ideally though I'd prefer if we didn't have markets and currency, which would eliminate a large portion of the necessary managerial work currently done in businesses.
I'm gonna hit the sack, but I'll be back in the morning. Lefty can answer your questions too, if it's urgent. Have a good night, comrade 😉
I work for a small business and some regulations are just completely ridiculous.
