To the 30% who said they were within their right need to go back to their history and geography books. Despite China claiming the South China Sea belongs solely to them, they are wrong. And the "newly constructed" land grabs is indicative of their true objectives.

Sometimes I wish there was a button for "I'm not informed enough on this to form an opinion ". But when. Has that stopped anyone this year.

International waters = no. Especially a science drone. That means they were paranoid and thinking we are spying on them. What are you projecting, China?

All that pivoting to Asia really worked out well for Obama and Clinton.
Just like their reset with Russia.
Or the "bring back our girls" Boko Haram.
Or the "agreement not treaty with Iran".
And yet there is Barry patting himself on the back in a presser Friday. Talk about clueless.

China has been posturing for aggression by building airstrips and stockpiling warfare arsenal for quite sometime. Now they are flexing their muscle to see what will happen.
Obama won't do anything.
You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to do what every American should do....
"Stop Buying Crap Made In China!"
Boycott Chinese goods and watch their economy collapse. Back to the rice paddy ungrateful mealy mouth urchins.

I think the reason there're so many yes answers is because it's called the "South China Sea." To the best of my knowledge, it's not owned by China, even if China wants it to be

Anyone who said yes is an idiot or traitor. So they can just sees anything they want an international waters. They can seize your boat if you had one because they can believe you might be a spy and have something on your boat that would enable you to detect whatever. That's OK? So we can just go around start taking other countries' stuff at whim? This is a war provoking moved to believe otherwise it is ignorant and foolish

No, it's international waters. The Navy should have their drones rigged up with C4 so they can make them go boom if the bad guys try to steal one.
Also, how the f*ck do you get a drone stolen? God damn POGs. The Navy hasn't even done anything badass since WWII.

Maybe they thought they were being spied on. They probably are anyway, so it would have been a valid assumption. News reports from the government have gaps wide enough to drive a submarine through...

There is a reason it's called international waters. There should be no further question.
The problem is the leadership of our country has proven themselves to be feckless and impotent. As such and Russia and China feel comfortable at pushing every advantage and rubbing our nose in our weakness at every conceivable opportunity.

Alright, we were in their understood territory. They had every right to stop a drone in their area. If Russia parked an underwater drone off of Long Island sound, we would not be so kind.

Was it still operational at the time, or had it become a derelict hazard to navigation? Because it seems like if it was good enough to even want back, it would have been able to evade them, never mind that it should have been as difficult for them to find as for us to keep track of in the first place.

If a Chinese drone were the same distance from our shore would everyone be ok with that? Considering it would still be international waters.

No they weren't. It was in international waters, not sovereign Chinese territory. Anybody has the right to have anything in international waters.

Our ship was in international waters. If we weren't and it wasn't documented by a satellite they would never have returned the underwater drone.

Can not believe that 20% + see nothing wrong with this. Seriously folks. Are that many Americans uneducated...or afraid of China... or just that plain ignorant. Wow! Just wow!
