And what makes killing a serious offender wrong? What lens are you looking through? We can all agree to disagree. If you feel it's wrong... You can protest it, I'll just be on the side for it.
The victims should have a say. However, that isn't the case. A Grand jury decides on the death penalty ONLY if the D.A decides to present it and purse the death penalty. Every jury much concur to the death sentence, a unanimous decision only for a death sentence.
I stand by what I said. Are you saying the judicial system should be about revenge, instead of justice? Taking another person's life is completely wrong, I am disgusted by the fact that anyone would support it. Please, provide another reason to keep it instead of revenge.
Keep them in prison? You know how much it cost to house, feed and provide medical care for someone on a life sentence? That also puts the jailer or corrections officer in jeopardy of dying everyday he goes to work. Doesn't the corrections officer's life matter?
I think the system, from crimes punishable by death, to the process after sentencing, to the actual execution needs to be heavily revised.
I do not oppose it in and of itself.
