Pessimistic. I fucking hate the holidays for one thing. Plus this shitshow of an election depressed me. I lost respect for this country when they voted for a reality star and a bad senator.

Very optimistic now. I now finally feel like I have hope in the future unlike the past president which gave us no hope and no future. This is going to be a great Christmas.

Once you give up "leaps of faith" as philosophical suicide and also physical suicide then you can live "optimistically" and embrace the absurdity of life.
To be free and give life meaning you have to recognize the absurdity of life.

Some people call me dream crusher, but when a kid says to me "I'm gonna be an player in the NBA!" I tell them that they're not gonna be anything special and that they are just gonna get a normal job. They always say everyone is special, but that's not true. Chances are, you're not special in any way.

I guess I feel pessimistic about the near future and optimistic about the distant future. Weird. I'd never realized that before.

Despite the national tragedy of Trump's election, I believe in the infinite resilience of the American people to overcome extreme adversity.

Very optimistic. My kids are growing big, strong, and smart, my wife still puts up with me, and I'm doing great financially and emotionally. Trump can't stop me from being happy, or from carving out a good future for my kids.

Optimistic. I do what I can to steer my personal life in a positive direction. As for the things I can't control...I stay optimistic to help maintain good mental health. Being optimistic doesn't mean being a Pollyanna or closing your eyes to the negative things in life though. There's a balance.

We are moving forward in plenty of things. We are living longer, are getting smarter, and the rest of the world is becoming less poor. Countries like India and China have brought hundreds of millions of people out of poverty in a few decades, and we will see these countries poverty free in the 21st century. Genetic engineering is allowing us to fix people with disabilities and other diseases. In fact, a young girl named Layla in the U.K. was cured of her leukemia using gene editing technology. Racism and sexism are slowly dying out. This century will be good in general. We will have problems like every other generation, but I think we are in a better situation.

Depends on what you mean by future.
Future of this world, of human society and culture: pessimistic.
Future as is in the afterlife, heaven, and God's ultimate plan for His creation: optimistic.
