Show of Hands

I had a childhood friend that I was very close to from the third grade til I was about 14. At different times throughout our relationship we would experiment with each other as many curious children will do. But he was avidly interested in girls even at a young age (and I pretended to be as well). When we were older, near the end of our friendship, I told him I was gay. He said he didn't care but I knew his parents were homophobic and often expressed that verbally so of course it made him uneasy. We still hung out and one night when I was at his house he started asking lots of questions. We were laying in bed ready for sleep and suddenly he was on top of me and he kissed me. I pushed him away. I said I didn't want to do anything to ruin our friendship. He was hurt and he started crying and wouldn't talk to me the rest of the night. Today he's straight. I don't know if he's closeted or not. We haven't spoken since, but for a short "hello" on Facebook a couple of years ago.

One of my male childhood friends actually tried to kiss his best friend (another guy) on the lips in kindergarten. Today their both grown up and straight.... I don't know if this goes to show that sexual orientations are devolved and can change or if society just conditions us to see certain acts as acts of love, like kissing someone on the lips.... or maybe he was just young and being dumb lol.

My older brother had homsexual urges when he was little, but when he turned 14 he completely changed.
