Gentlemen: would you wear a t-shirt that says "Real men don't hit women", or is it just too weird?

I agree with the sentiment, but I don't generally wear t-shirts with messages.

Why? Because we don't agree with you?

Everybody with common sense knows not to abuse other people. This is the same logic as "teach men not to rape"...men already know not to rape and hit people, it's just some people are scumbags and don't care. Putting this on a shirt will do absolutely nothing.

Plus it's the no true Scotsman fallacy

I would never, and have never hit a woman. However, if a woman thinks she can take a swing at me first and think she can get away with it because of her gender, she's gonna get an ass whoopin' like any man would.

Having said this, I don't feel the need to advertise it by wearing a shirt that says so.

The only t-shirt I have with a message on it was made by my children over 20 years ago. I don't put bumper stickers on my car either.

Seems really strange. Also, it should just be "Real men don't hit" because there's nothing manly about men hitting other men either.

Lol what? Real men are supposed to panic and run to the cops I guess...

Run to the cops about what? I didn't mean if someone is attacking them. (In that case, shouldn't they defend themselves physically even if the attacker is female?) I assumed the shirt referred to cases OTHER than self-defense, so that would apply to men vs. men as well.

The more kids see that around them, the more they might internalize it so as an adult, they don't think it's right. Then again, those who commit domestic violence often grow up seeing it and being the victim of it. Still, I would wear it to show how I feel about it.

Russian: I think it, coming from another man, provides some peer pressure. Also, it just in general, raises awareness.

Is it free? Does it look ok on me as far as fit? If you answered yes to those questions, then yes. Yes I would.

Russian: a particular style of undershirt

I guess it's just the "tank" style undershirt. I don't get it but I guess now I know what it means. Another new thing I learned today. Wife beater.....go figure. However, malekithe is right. It would be ironic.
