He would have kept many more if he had a cooperative congress instead of a legislature intent on preventing him from accomplishing anything. Which led us to where we are today. People so desperate for someone outside the political sphere that they were willing to elect a candidate who is patently unqualified for the job.

Soxfan824 Jesus was a liberal
12/20/16 10:15 am

Oh I get it... they did it too so that makes it ok. Clearly your line of thinking is part of the problem. I don't condone it on either side of the aisle. Somewhere along the line, the job of congress has changed from legislating to preventing the other side from accomplishing anything--rendering the whole system ineffective. The solution is not to elect a buffoon who is completely unqualified. If you really want to send a message to congress, vote every single one of them out. #turnovercongress. I know that there are many good representives on both sides of the aisle, but it would be the best way to affect real change. But hey, I'm sure that Trump won't alienate anyone or be divisive while in office. Cuz you know, he's making America great again.

He had both the house and the senate with solid democratic majorities the first two years. You cannot blame the republicans for that. In the past major new laws or changes such as social security etc have passed with bipartisan support. If he had worked with all sides he could have had much more success. He forced his own agenda through in the beginning. It was his way or the highway and the republicans chose the highway.

WallyBarbuckle

This wasn't a question about economics (and in the real world our economy hasn't improved since '08, just the pumped up stock market and multi-nationals). It was a question about campaign promises. He promised to end/reverse the Bush years, when in fact he continued and expanded every single Bush policy.

Bush's 2009 budget had the Wall Street and auto bailouts, of which the democrats tout as them saving the economy, as well as, the Obama stimulus package in it. That is why his last year budget deficit was so high. His budget deficits for the other years were not that high and makes him look like a financial genius compared to Mr. Trillion dollar deficit! Finally the adults reigned him in the last few year to make him look respectable or as you guys call it "obstructing him". History will look at GWB more favorable than BHO! he lies endlessly while his establishment goons echo it through the media: "you can keep your doctor", "there is no liberty tax", "didn't know hillary used a private server", "hope and change"(bombing in 7 countries, still in two wars, expanded gitmo with indefinite detention, expanded nsa spying, used irs to target political enemies, etc)

i could go on forever how he is a demagogue. im not even some crazy right-winger even as you probably think. obama is a blatant corporatist when you look at the facts. all but one in his entire cabinet was suggested, vetted, and ultimately chosen by citigroup.

Gays can marry, serve openly in the military and live and work in the open. Isn't that great?

The government no longer spies on Americans without a warrant.

-obamacare was a right wing plan pushed by nixon and the heritage foundation
-arm terrorists to overthrow countries we do not like
