Are there any crimes for which innocence should not be assumed until guilt is proven? Any that should be believed on the accusers word alone, which proof only helps? (In comments, Which crimes?)

It seems now a days, you are guilty until you can prove your innocence, when it should be the other way around.

Unfortunately, that's why I made the poll. The good news is, at least the people who voted here don't seem to feel that way (mostly.)

At least 10% who voted disagree so far, but no word yet on which laws they think it shouldn't apply to. :/

In other words, is 'innocent until proven guilty' really that important?
It is to me, but I am not convinced, by what I see on TV, that others share this opinion, and am curious to hear and discuss with others.
