While hiking in the woods you're bitten by a snake lying in the brush. Before it slithers away you note that the snake's color pattern is red, black, yellow. Should you be overly concerned?
Yellow on black. You'll be in a sack.
What is this "woods" you speak of?
Red touching black, or red touching yellow?
"Red on Black, friend of jack"
"Red in Yellow, kill a fellow"
Coral snakes, I believe, are the dealt ones.
Mimicking them are Milk and other types.
I learned it as
"red on black venom lack, red on yellow kill a fellow."
Red touches yellow, your a dead fellow. Red touches black, you're okay jack.
Des it have a rattle, too? If so, I'd be worried.
Rattle snakes aren't red and yellow - they are tanish brown
Unless some troublemaker paints them.
Thanks, Doopy. You got my humor.
Just doing my duty.
When I was in Rec centers or nature trail yours they always said the most dangerous snakes have red or yellow on them.
Red touches black, you're okay Jack! Red touches yellow, you're a dead fellow..
I dont think that there is a standard saying for the coral snake pattern. I dont think a single one in the comments so far is the same
Red on black, good luck jack.
If I get bit that snake will be coming with me to the hospital.
Red on yellow, kill a fellow. Red on black, venom lack.
Coral/King snakes, right?
You should not, more than likely its the non-poisonous king snake. Coral snakes are pretty rare in the wild.
On the plus side, coral snakes don't have fangs at the front of their heads. If you get bit by a coral snake, it because you were playing with it.
The fact I just got bit in general I would be worried...
Red and black, friend of Jack; red and yellow kill a fellow.
Not my friend.
True. He did just bite you, the little turd...
Bright colors don't mean you can hug it
"Red next to black, you can pat him on the back; red next to yellow, he can kill a fellow."
Red and yellow kill a fellow.
Red touches black venom lack. Red touches yellow ya your f••ked
Haha I like that one
That's the best yet. :-)
