Modern America: rich man's war, poor man's fight
Pretty much . Wealthy or politicians kids rarely go to war. Everyone does.
You mean pretty much every war...ever, save for popular uprisings and peasant revolts.
I agree. Just another example of how the state cannot cease to serve the interests of the bourgeoisie.
That phrase was used when we had a draft. Now we are all volunteer and no longer has any meaning
The rich aren't joining the military for a college education.
It absolutely has meaning. We aren't being utilized to "protect freedom," and the cats at Boeing and the rest of the military industry don't want us to stop. I don't know what you're talking about its as relevant today as it's ever been
That's the old Vietnam conspiracy theories when we had the draft. Now it's rich mans game and professional warriors.
Well they've admitted they faked the gulf of tonkin
Right. I'm glad they don't have the draft anymore. It's a volunteer army at least.
Well we COULD have a draft. The SS still exists.
We could. I hope they're reserving that for the world war that never comes.
More like poor man's war, rich man's war-profiteering. 😶
I see your point. But it's a volunteer army.
That doesn't make it better. If we're going to have a volunteer military let's reserve them for actual threats and not just being the puppet master of the world.
I agree rebel.
