Are public employees underpaid?
Think of how FEW services you'd have if you had to pay private contractors at 3-4x the same rate as public employees.
Sounds like a bargain.
Name one thing the government and private industry have both offered where the government did it more efficiently? Prices Gould be lower.
Defending your freedom!
Hell no! Overpaid is more like it.
I agree with you guys below. This has many overpaid emps. There are many who are so far under paid that they are on public assistance. Civil servant jobs are typically at a competitive wage. Public coughers are not usually in favor of that…
Given a choice, the public would rather have their services than than pay a competitive salary. It is understandable.
I am a public employee and I am not overpaid. That is not the case everywhere . One problem is tax payers can't always pay public employees what they are worth. So you want to go in to public service because you like it not to get rich.
Not at all! They are overpaid, get all these benefits, and all this time off its ridiculous!
Not here--typically way overpaid
Their salaries aren't great, but many enjoy sweet retirement plans.
A majority are underpaid. Upper management is overpaid, and sadly those are the people whose salaries are most publicized.
Since they stay in their jobs much longer than private employees, they must be satisfied, that makes me vote no.
It kinda depends, but in general no.
