Proposed: The laws of a free society can and should be distilled down as to be published in a standard paperback and written in language all can understand.

It would be a paperback too heavy to carry.

I don't think so. If the law was simply written. Most laws overlap existing regulation. For example there is a law prohibiting reckless driving as well as another for distracted driving and one targeting txt and one cellphones. Distill drive safely.

The quintessential essence of tyranny is inability by common man to avoid punishment by those in control. Pass so many laws no one can *hope* to stay w/in confines of "rules" = vindictive tyranny. We are already there. Ten Commandments sufficient.

Absolutely.
Why would this be opposed?

Good question. Why hasn't it happened then?

“There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any gov has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them.

One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

I believe strongly that too many laws make every man a criminal. Simple understandable laws rather than the mass of overlapping regulation and laws are the answer to returning freedom to society.
